Exo Terra Complete Internal Filter Review

The first one arrived defective. It was so loud I could hear it from the other side of my apartment. The exchange was easy and the delivery was very fast. However, the new worker is calm and amazing. I have a 10 gallon with a red ear slider and usually after a week and a half to two weeks the water starts to get dirty. I've been using it for 2 weeks and it's actually still crystal clear. And like I said, it's really quiet (at least for me) compared to the ones I've had before.

In the beginning this filter was great. However, to be the only filter in a 40 gallon single RES tank, it MUST be cleaned about every 3 days to keep the water clean. The replaceable activated carbon filter was very difficult to remove. I also cut my finger badly once. And once I really started to doubt this filter and buy a new one or an extra one, the fact that it stopped working reinforced my decision. And I received the filter on February 11th. This filter works great. We use it for a 10 gallon tank in which we keep a couple of fiddler crabs. We had an additional aquarium and my son loves crabs. He wanted a hermit crab, but I didn't want to mess with him. Fiddler crabs are tough little guys, so I'll let my two kids choose one. Set up an aquarium with good sand, rocks, and a few plants. If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm oooooooooooooooh on these stupid filters. Bought 2 last week, installed last night, woke up at 3am to pee and my poor turtle was in the corner of her tank (not her usual sleeping nook or next to her favorite rock) with head held high, absolutely STONE, because one of the 2 filters (the one next to her sleeping stone) made this absolutely horrible scream and my poor kid was so scared I've never been so angry! So those were removed from my turtle tank at 3am…
