Great tool for little learners

I love that these scissors taught my kid how to cut but the blade kinda sucks. Paper tears more than it cuts. But I couldn't have taught her how to cut without her. We are tired! While not sharp for the age group, it's still the perfect tool for getting them to open and close the clippers. I would definitely recommend these scissors and will be buying them again for my little siblings when it is their turn to study. They are so safe that if they touch the blade they will definitely not cut the…

Recommendation occupational therapist early support

Suitable for beginners to learn how to use scissors. First, children need to learn the angle of the hand (they want to tilt the thumb to the side, not straight up and down), the position of the fingers in the loops, how to put open scissors on paper, move forward, follow the line and open and close. Opening up is usually the step that ends their patience because they can't get everything. First cut the edge of the stiff paper (without lines) and use these scissors to open up. It's also easier…

Worst Quality Control

This is how your little one learns how to use scissors. Concerned about security? I hope so, because Fiskars is clearly not like that. Straight out of the box we tried cutting thick paper, but the cut wasn't clear or light (and not wavy). Thinking they were just a bit boring, I let my daughter try it. Suddenly they got stuck and flew out of her hands and onto her knees. Upon closer inspection, one of the blades (on the black side) was completely missing, and the protrusions used for attachment…

Perfect fit for my almost 3 year old

As the first pair of scissors, they fit my daughter (almost 3 years) very well! It helped her a lot to develop dexterity and coordination in cutting paper properly. I plan to buy more for my class of special needs preschoolers. *UPDATE* After about 2.5 months one of the metal blades fell off completely when my 3 year old was cutting paper with it! Luckily I was sitting next to her when it happened! The opposite blade appears to have cut into the plastic "bubbles" that ran through the blade to…

Good design bad production

The scissors have a smart design with a small orange lever that can act as a spring. The build quality is terrible. First, the blades weren't straight, so I had to take the time to align them with pliers. Then the small screw holding the two plastic pieces together kept falling out. It turns out that the hole for the screw is unthreaded, so the screw will never stand still. I had to use epoxy to glue it in place. Tightening the screw is awkward because while it looks like it will fit under a…

My 34 month old learned to clip and loves it!

This is my second order of preschool scissors. The reason for ordering was because the earlier ones, while super secure, witnessed the toddler's frustration for not cutting the side at all. (Two reviews in one? ;)) And now to that! The joy on my toddler's face when he can cut paper (that isn't even stretched) for 15 seconds immediately after learning is incredible. - Non-slip plastic, so the grip is quite firm. - Ability to cut less paper by adjusting the arrow. Bad and ugly... The blades are…
