The box must have been dropped or the part was already chipped when it arrived. Then he put out 166 volts instead of 120 volts. I'll try remodeling with wires and see if that solves the problem. Currently, the small dial on the back doesn't help regulate the tension. If I hadn't checked the voltage it might have burned something. Not recommended!

Easily replaceable brush wires identified and voltage easily adjustable. Once the RPM is correctly set to 60Hz. On the back there is a small blue potentiometer that you can use to set the output voltage. Works perfectly. I ordered a replacement part which is nice to have as it is the alternator protection and probably the only electronics on my alternator.

The new VR was the same size and fit as the standard. The only difference was the positive and negative pins - the wires were slightly longer and the latch on the 4-pin connector was reversed (handy, but I added a little zip tie). I got a great deal on a used HF Predator 8750. All you need is a new VR. Changed the stock spark plug to NGK, added some fuel and new fuel, cleaned the air filter and changed the oil to 10-30W SYN, saving about $400 instead of buying a new one. I am looking forward to
