I'm not the computer expert but I found what adapter I need to connect my 2016 MacBook Pro to an external monitor. The 2016 MacBook Pro doesn't have a USB drive, so it took me a while to figure it out. When the adapter arrived I was able to connect two monitors, but the speed was incredibly slow and I had trouble "waking up" both monitors at the same time. I just hooked this up to a MacAir 2014 Core I5 with Intel HD Graphics 5000 running the latest High Sierra. Despite several months of failure when I first bought it (Apple screwed up an OS update), this device is fantastic. I use it with my MacBook Air (2013) to add a third monitor. I'm in the process of setting up a second display for easier editing. I use a Mac mini that only has an HDMI output, and most USB-C port hubs interfere with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signals, so I had to find a workaround to connect a second monitor. Since I'm using this on my laptop without a CD drive, I had to download the latest driver from the Gofanco website. Note: USB3HDMI product if asked.
