Neglecting this will cause normal use of the seat (i.e. riding with your own weight on it) to push the seat cushions further outward and effectively lock them in that position. Update: 4/4/2016 Something I don't think others have mentioned. He stands tall. If you look at the photos posted by other reviewers, you can see that the mounting hardware is between 1.5 and 2 inches. Now I'm 100% sure that lugged regular saddles are a terrible idea. Don't assume that your saddle won't hurt you just because you don't feel totally numb down there, or that you can still play at some level in the bedroom.
