Poor Filament Sensor for 3D Printing

This Industrial and Scientific filament sensor doesn't work reliably. Sometimes it detects available filaments even when there aren't any, while it also fails to register installed filaments even when they are present..

Pros
  • None.
Cons
  • Unreliable detection.

Firmware Issues: Additive Manufacturing Products

So far, this product has lived up to expectations right away. I can't seem to install firmware that works for this filament sensor and BLtouch at the same time. I seem to be allowed to do both now. IDK if other people are having similar issues, but this is a bit annoying. I also printed a sensor mount and where it fits, the cables are barely long enough to reach the motherboard. Otherwise I'd say the thing works great. I know if I can get the correct firmware.

Pros
  • This 1.75mm diameter filament low sensor unit is designed to detect when your print has run out of filament. If the device detects that the filament has run out during printing, it sends a signal to the main circuit board. With the correct firmware settings, printing will pause until the operator resets the filament and resumes printing.
Cons
  • So far, so good
