Spring deformed beyond repair on first use

They look sturdy and will stand up to repeated use. But the spring makes the whole arrangement easy to use. Without loops on the handles, the scissors must be spring-loaded. If there were finger loops on the handles, things would be different. As with many others, my pair's spring deformed almost immediately. I haven't found a suitable replacement yet.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Not bad

Excellent tool in the scissors

I bought these poultry shears to slaughter thick boned birds (duck, geese). These scissors cut through bone like a knife through hot butter. I was blown away by how effective it is and made table carving so much easier. This is a great tool for people like me who don't have a good knowledge of knives. The blades can be easily disassembled for easy cleaning. I hand wash it so as not to lose the little spring that holds the blades together.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Don't know

Looks cool but the scissors aren't very good. I had to buy a replacement gerber. I had to twist the nut holding the two blades together to separate them. The nerds ground the nut and bolt to make them aerodynamic. Cannot be cleaned properly and the blades were too far apart to cut. He just ripped open a turkey that I was trying to cut up. I will buy a new nut and bolt to get it working but this is not a very good product. I have been using, sharpening and maintaining industrial scissors…

They were really heavy and strong and seemed to do the job well.

We loved them. I bought them as an early Christmas present for my dad and brought them home for Thanksgiving. At first glance they were really heavy and solid and seemed like they would do their job well (which they did). Cutting a turkey leg is fairly easy, but after the initial disassembly and washing, the feather never seemed to charge and hold properly, so while they were "easy to clean," they weren't easy to put back together. after the first time. I am sending them back, expected better…

Need stronger hands to use this to cut bones

I bought this because of a review that said one person could cut chicken and goose bones. I wanted to be able to cut open chicken and turkey bones, get to the bone marrow, and make Paleo/GAPS bone broth (if you're on a Paleo or GAPS diet, you know what I'm talking about). I couldn't get through either. My husband with big strong hands could use it to cut chicken thigh bones but not turkey. The chicken bones he cut were split and broken into many small pieces. When I asked the butcher to cut my…

Durable, reliable and functional. But some annoying glitches

These scissors cut well. The teeth do a good job of preventing most foods from slipping when slicing. For round objects, the notch will hold them in place and provide good leverage. Overall they hold and cut food much better than traditional heavy duty scissors. Separating knives facilitate thorough cleaning. They are very durable and inexpensive. My error occurs when I accidentally leave the blades open too far and the spring pops out and pulls the blades apart. They are easy to assemble, but…

Cake professional Poultry scissors

Very strong, well-made scissors. Cut chicken thigh bones. I use them to make raw chicken to feed my dogs. Two parts can be disassembled for easy cleaning. The only weak point is the spring - it's very strong, but if you spread the scissors too far they come out on one side. The other end is fixed. Then if you don't realize it's out and you squeeze the scissors, it can bend or deform the spring. Mine isn't right now, but doesn't cause any particular problems. But I'm not sure how you would…

  • Easy assembly

SOLID stainless steel scissors

Just got the scissors so can't comment on how they hold up. But they are VERY durable. Each of the handles is made from one piece, making them look bulletproof. They really come apart, so the two handles are dishwasher safe. I washed them in the dishwasher and they were fine. Note that the spring comes out of the handles. Be careful not to lose it. They seem to be straight from Germany. The markings on the box are completely German. I'm not sure if it's important, but thought I'd mention it…

Kitchen Scissors: Cutlery & Knife Accessories

I bought these kitchen scissors from Revain a few weeks ago. I used them every day when I was slicing up raw chicken to feed my dogs. The scissors look like a surgical instrument made of stainless steel. You have a "good" feeling of heaviness in your hands. Scissors cut chicken bones very effectively. As they are used in the catering industry, they break into two parts for cleaning and have a small spring between the parts. Spring comes for cleaning too. Since the spring was easy to lose, I…
