Perfect for xs02z circular saw

Perfect for my xs02z. As most people have mentioned, it doesn't come with a screw. There's an easy fix, if you have one of those Makita drill bits or tools that come with a belt clip, that clip is held in place with a black screw, which is perfect. I grabbed one from my drill (I don't use a belt clip very often anyway).

  • Price
Cons

It's not screwed!

Unboxed VERY POOR as it requires a threaded fastener BUT a simple inexpensive screw is not included. The product description also does not state that NO HARDWARE is included or that a metric or other threaded fastener is REQUIRED for assembly. So yes, a simple transaction turns into finding the right closure. . . Metric or American thread, diameter, pitch, threads per inch, length, hex socket, cylinder head, hex head, hardened, etc.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • No instructions

Need a little refinement for Makita XSH03Z

Adapter angle is too thick for XSH03Z. Corrected with a file and 1 min. After that it fits perfectly. There is no screw in the package, so I found a rusty dirty one myself. The blue saw guard is blocked by the adapter. The protective part cannot be closed completely with the adapter mounted, which is not a problem for me. I know Makita sells a shorter stem. I'm giving it 4 stars because I think (1) it's a piece of cheap plastic, it should have been in the original box. (2) without screw.

Perfect fit for Makita 61/2 inch XSS02

I bet it would fit and it was perfect. And it was $4 delivered next day! Yes, the end is the same size as a shop vacuum's small nozzle, so it will need to be resized for a vacuum hose, but it's probably meant for a pouch as my Makita belt sander pouch fits perfectly. Thinking about a cordless saw that connects to an online store vacuum? No probably not. This is very much. This part is a must have as my Makita saw scatters sawdust everywhere without it. Yes, Makita should have had it with theโ€ฆ

Does what it should.

There is nothing to say about the dust nozzle other than that it works. I would say before I put this on my Makita circular saw, the dust flew right onto my body. A slit in the plywood, and the pockets of my apron are filled to the brim with sawdust. Even if you don't connect it to a vacuum cleaner, it at least directs the flow of dust away from you. The big disadvantage is the fact that Makita does not supply the screw required for assembly. I had to rummage through a drawer. Screws to findโ€ฆ

Do not use Loctite! Not as secure as a job might need.

After I went to Tacoma Screw to get a screw that should have been included, I used some Loctite to secure the screw. Little did I know that Loctite attacks the thermoplastic, damaging the bolt tongue. I removed the pieces from both saws I bought them for and glued them together. I use one of my saws to cut Hardie siding. I attached the spigot to this saw and felt that the 2" hose I attached to it would load it and probably pull it off the saw. So I decided to use my standard hot glue gun andโ€ฆ

Poorly executed design

I have a very large collection of Makita 18V power tools for the workshop and garden. I have always appreciated good design and quality from Makita. However, this was the biggest disappointment I have ever had with Makita - they just don't seem to care about this product. Firstly, I'm not sure why this little piece of plastic just wasn't included with the circular saw. -- It's not like we're buying cheap tools when we buy Makita. Secondly, neither the saw nor this attachment comes with theโ€ฆ

However, it could be a 5 star item.

Mounting screw not included! Here is my review. When I found this I was very excited that I could finally control some of the dust this little saw produces. The part fits perfectly on my saw, but the mounting screw was not included. So after spending time at Home Depot with a saw in hand, I found the right screw. The screw has since fallen out and I now use a sheet metal screw and it holds up well. The OD is a bit small for the recommended hose, so I made it slightly larger with tape. I alsoโ€ฆ
