Not as described in Power Tools

Vacuum cleaner ok, wrong description of what comes with the vacuum cleaner. There is no pack of 5 bags as described, only 1 bag comes with the vacuum cleaner. I can't find any replacement packs online. I have a part number from the Makita website but I've searched for new bags to no avail.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Zero

The best vacuum cleaner ever!

Works just as well as Festool vacuum cleaners and has proven itself after a year of use. Ignore the reviews complaining about the noise, it's no louder than my store vacuum. This is a vacuum, not a shop vacuum, although in every way it performs much better than a regular shop vacuum. All dust collectors make loud noises because they are constantly cleaning their filters during use. Anyone complaining about this is an idiot who doesn't know what a vacuum cleaner is or what it does.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Can be retrofitted

pop, pop, pop! the best among power tools and hand tools

Ok so I looked at some reviews on this item and got a good idea of what I was getting. Unfortunately, Makita changed the design and operation of the device after watching the video reviews. My son and I put it together, turned it on and finally figured out that there is some sort of built in solenoid or relay that makes the vacuum bang loudly every few seconds. At the same time, the housing of the vacuum cleaner seems about to fall apart. It's annoying! The vacuum cleaner is not quiet at first.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Hard to tell

READ REVIEWS! - Power tools

Bought because it's quiet and didn't read the reviews. After receiving it and studying its knock, I read the reviews. One review mentioned hearing a "clap" every "17 seconds," and many reviews complained that each only gets one pack. Well, as soon as I turned on the vacuum cleaner, it sucked really well, was relatively quiet, and then bang. Bang bang. The "clap sound" is much louder than just a pop. It looks like the air is being pushed back through the filter which also acted like a lot of…

Nobody warned me about explosions

When you spend $600 on a quiet vacuum you don't want it to make a loud noise every 17 seconds, but this vacuum does exactly that. Apparently they had problems with clogged filters, so a brilliant engineer designed a magnetic coil that hit the fuselage hard twice every 17 seconds. When I started I thought something had come loose. I am very disappointed in Makita. I bought it because of the Makita name and didn't expect it to be a Hungarian made rebathed Nilfisk. The documentation was terribly…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Decent vacuum with all the features

This vacuum is in the general price range of other high-end vacuums with the same features like auto start, variable power and quiet operation that the $100-$100 price tag doesn't add up to find are offer. $400 vacuum cleaner. The difference with Nilfisk or Festool is that it has all the features, not just a subset: wet or dry, adjustable power, automatic fine dust removal, Hepa filter, automatic start, decent capacity, solid build, powerful and quiet. No other vacuum in this price range has…

Pros
  • Quality construction

  • Great price

sucks. but seriously, he does what he has to do.

It's vacuum, it sucks. :p But seriously, it works fine in our little shop. Good suction power, much quieter than the shop vacuum it replaced and runs quietly and easily. The infamous knock that people complain about is definitely there, but you can turn it off very easily by turning the knob another click. I also like the speed control, if you don't need more airflow and need a quieter environment you can turn the speed down. Most vacuums with HEPA filters tend to be noisy and shrill when the…

Reliable, stable and very efficient.

I wanted to buy a Festool CT36 after using it. But before I bought the €800 CT36, I decided to do a little comparison and came across Makita, which I found out is actually the ATTIX44 from Nilfisk, a Danish company that is apparently specialized in industrial vacuum cleaners. ! Website for things like accessories/bags. everything is very easy to find and the prices are comparable to Festool or cheaper. Examples: fleece filters for the same price but there is a support box for accessories on…

It's a dust collector!

I love this extractor! This is one of the best I've used! The hose and cord storage is fantastic, as well as the ability to add additional lockable drawers to store gear, hose accessories, bags, filters and more. Big rubber wheels roll great! This concept eludes most manufacturers of shop vacuum cleaners and dedusters. There are 3 small parts that need to be fitted once it arrives. You need torx bits (T20-T25, I don't remember exactly) for 2 of them, the 3rd snaps into place. Just look at the…
