amazing spring bolts

After searching in big stores and a few local hardware stores with no success I found these and they are exactly what I wanted. Well made, robust and very good value for money.

Pros
  • this is amazing
Cons
  • useless features

Poorly thought out. Bad notes. Has great potential!

The pin that holds the barrel in place is poorly installed and not long enough. Everything about this product is designed to be a great, long lasting product. It's close, but not the proverbial segar!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Volume

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The length is wrong. Its length is 6.25 inches.

They are advertised as 6 1/2 (6.5) inches long and only 6 1/4 (6.25) inches long. The tip on the outside of the spring pin is 1 1/4 (1.25) inches, the diameter of the pin is approximately 1/4 (0.25) inches.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Good but not great

One of them is not like the other.

Looks like a quality product that will last, but one of these must have been sitting on the seabed for some time. I have more and more problems with products from Amazon and their retailers. Now I have to send it back and wait. A little bit frustrating. The problem isn't so much with Amazon as it is with the retailer that made it. I will order another

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No instructions

Good product! - Hardware

I was impressed by those spring plungers. I have used them on the passive door of my 2 door barn for the past 6 months. They are heavy and prevent the door from moving. I put one on the top and bottom of the door to keep it from moving. I can see where the weak link is the little pins in them (keeping it in the unlocked position) and they might fail in the future. At the moment, however, they didn't worry me for a second.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing here

Great for my personal work.

You are great. Used them to craft a custom lock for custom farming implements. Some say they can almost get the pin out of the hole but I can't. I bought four of these and they all work great. There are also countersunk holes for a countersunk screw if you need that. Eventually you'll have to replace the roller pins holding it together, but that's no big deal. The coil pins that come with the kit seem a bit more fragile than the set of hardened pins I have. But it's easy to replace with a…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

If you buy this latch, be sure to replace the tapered pin immediately.

I bought two clasps. They are the perfect replacement for the 30 year old damaged ones I had. On my first drive, the "conical" pin fell out and the spring and locking pin hit the pavement. Since I only walked 1/2 mile I was able to find the pieces. I went to the hardware store, bought a matching taper pin and assembled the latch. No rust in two months. I would buy again, but would immediately spend $1 to replace the pins with the correct ones, not the bent sheet metal ones.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
