Mediocre goods, most likely I will not use.

I decided to write a review after a significant period of operation of this glass, since I did not understand it at first, and here is a summary: this is a lens of a very indefinite purpose - it is neither a portrait lens, nor a makrik, nor a reporter - neither this nor that! At the same time, on a DX-carcass with a good matrix (I have it on the D5000), it somehow copes with all these functions (unless, of course, instead of zooming, train the legs and the patience of others), but at best…

Pros
  • Not in order of importance, but as I remember. 1. Autofocus motor is, it is fast and quiet 2. good build quality, reliability and equipment (although China) 3. Aperture: like "1.8" - really acceptable quality is from 2.5, and good in my opinion from 4 (subjectively) 4. Very short focusing distance (from 12 centimeters it already clings, it almost comes out macro) 5. Optimal in terms of versatility, fixing on DX cameras - allows you to squeeze at least something in the conditions of small rooms, and shoot a portrait (but with the need for a subsequent crop of the frame, because half a meter from the object it greatly distorts in the central zone, and if further , then the portrait comes out already "with a bust", which is not always necessary. 6. Cheap (took approx. 6.5) 7. Compact and lightweight - always with you.
Cons
  • Consider the price! 1. inaccurate autofocus, +/- up to 0.5 cm near (critical for a portrait). Sometimes it does not cling at all (worse than my 18-105). 2. terribly lathers at an aperture of more than 2.5, but you can try to use this to soften portraits;)) 3. I didn’t notice aberrations - my carcass removes them by itself, maybe they are. But peripheral distortion gives noticeable: the face closer than half a meter from the lens becomes pronounced puffiness, and this is the central zone of the frame! 4. explicit uncertainty of the functional purpose and scope of its use

Impressions from the purchase are good, buy.

I am satisfied with my copy, not counting the autofocus - I handed it over to the service for adjustment under warranty, I am waiting for the results. Some pros: Sharp starting wide open (sharper than 50/1.8 (1.4) D and G versions). At 2.8, excellent micro-contrast appears. Pleasant, soft, but at the same time quite expressive bokeh. Fast and quiet autofocus. Light weight, compact. Possibility of manual fine-tuning of focus. Cons below: There is no focus distance scale. Problems with quality…

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

The lens performed well on my two carcasses - d5100 and d80. Focusing speed on both is fast, sharpness across the frame, decent bokeh. The camera with it does not look like a terribly cool mega SLR, if anyone cares. But even compared with the whale, the dimensions are noticeably reduced. This, of course, is not a 40mm canan pancake, which looks more like a plug for a mount, but it is still very small. The lens hood twists into the stowed position without any problems. The lens is durable…

Pros
  • 1. Light and small. 2. A lens hood is included (although it helps infrequently). 3. Aperture. 1.8 is quite a working aperture. 4. Can be used as a staff member due to the appropriate angle. 5. Extremely cheap. 6. Very fast autofocus. 7. High sharpness, perhaps even higher than Nikon's 50 1.8 D.
Cons
  • Considering the price, there are no cons in the lens. Plasticity does not detract from its strength, lenses with focusing problems are not so common, and the fact that with a protective filter it desperately glares is completely solved by removing the filter.

The best thing Ive ever used, a great item for everyone!

I have long wanted to take a portrait lens, before that I mainly worked with macro. I decided to take 35mm, for a cropped 1.5 matrix, just about 51mm comes out. I am completely satisfied with the quality, good optics, a quiet motor, for its price it’s a bomb in general . In examples: girl: ISO320, 1/640, f/2.8; kitten: ISO400, 1/500, f/1.8; dog: ISO400, 1/1250, f/1.8 (crop)

Pros
  • Good aperture, Aperture 1.8
Cons
  • It’s a bit inconvenient to switch the focus mode, but oh well, I’m still used to doing it with the lever on the camera.

Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

All imperfections are easily removed in Lightroom. I use it in tandem with the d5200. Very satisfied. At first, I didn’t understand it, very often smeared autofocus. In a couple of months, I realized that I would no longer wear a whale. I bought it in the player, they checked it myself, my copy had neither back nor front focus. Recently rode tubing and I had to change it to a whale, as the subjects were far away. Arriving home, I was simply stunned by how much worse the whale worked in the…

Pros
  • Aperture, sharpness, price, size.
Cons
  • Distortion, a little chromate.

Not exactly what I wanted, but basically everything is fine.

Bought at Nikon Store 07/18/2022 Order No. 83590, a purely opinion, a good lens for the money, for everyday photography, very much nothing, but the declared qualities such as dust, moisture protective, nonsense, that's all, rubber seals around the campaign are so scary , for the sake of appearance, I used it twice in three weeks, with my daughter we went to the city center, take a walk, take pictures, yesterday I noticed that under the rear lens, hairs and dust, how? Tomorrow I'll take it to…

Pros
  • Good, light, inexpensive, sharp at certain f
Cons
  • Poor build quality, not what it is not dusty, moisture protective

The best thing Ive ever used, a great item for everyone!

I am a novice amateur photographer and after those lenses that have passed through my hands, this one does not want to be removed from the camera. Universal focal length, high aperture with pleasant bokeh as for me and very good sharpness, which, at my level and for such money, completely suits me. I took it from my hands for 7k, in general it’s a sin to complain) but, to be honest, it’s worth taking it new, only with a mandatory check of autofocus and general impressions of the picture. I am…

Pros
  • Aperture Sharpness (especially after the whale) The weight Dimensions Price
Cons
  • The only thing I would find fault with at this price is not the fastest autofocus. But it's not critical at all.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied, the product fully corresponds to the description.

There is no feeling of razor sharpness inherent in many fixes. Those. it is sharp, but creates a feeling of some softness of the pattern. In certain cases, plus - say, in portraits you get smoother, softened skin, more silky hair. In others - a minus, the lens is still not portrait, with this focal length it is more logical to classify it as universal, so sometimes you expect a slightly sharper picture from a fix.

Pros
  • This is AF-S. And that's it. Those. with focus motor. Something that the owners of the D40, D60 and other non-screwdriver Nikons lacked so much. At the same time, it also focuses with decent aperture and focuses quite quickly, and from a fairly close distance from the front lens.
Cons
  • Sometimes autofocus misses a little.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, not disappointed.

However, in general . satisfied with the purchase. At least not disappointed. The lens turned out exactly as I imagined it. If I had - with such characteristics - a "universal" 35-70 mm, then it would be a cool staffer. On a 1.5-month trip this year, I took 35 mm and Nezhin 100 mm "Kaleinar" (1989). Rating put "troika", and then raised by a point. I think "four" (with a minus-invisibility) for this glass is a fairer assessment. .A year later (as of September 2022) I confirm my first review. I…

Pros
  • The weight. Dimensions (dimensions). Well cut and assembled. Aperture for budget money: you can normally shoot from aperture 2.8 with filters in November and December.
Cons
  • Well, there is no (!) the sharpness and aperture ratio declared by marketers. Soaps and darkens even on a clear sunny day. It focuses - as it will fall on the soul (not to the photographer, but to the lens). Definitely not enough width, then dinners.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

Really fast focusing, but unfortunately periodically misses - if the aperture is 1.8, then this is eventually visible and the miss is about 20% in difficult cases. The issue is being resolved - by double focusing, focusing - release the button, focus again. Since the focusing itself is very fast, there are no questions here, and the problem really pops up in difficult cases, when it is already dark, but the camera did not turn on the autofocus backlight. Other than that, I'm very pleased with…

Pros
  • Lightweight, sharp enough, fast focusing, the ability to immediately switch to manual focus mode simply by turning the ring, good aperture, convenient focal length for indoors and, in principle, as a staff member is convenient.
Cons
  • Focus still misses sometimes

I bought this miracle in Hong Kong in a Amazon store at the beginning of March 2022 for 14,990. The price is of course high compared to online stores (I found it for 13,000 and a filter as a gift), but some kind of crap, they explained to me that there is a gray guarantee, without an official Nikon guarantee, therefore, it’s cheaper. I decided that I’ll take it more expensive but with an official guarantee, and even more so in the store I myself can check the lens for front and back focus. but…

Pros
  • Sharpness, great detail.
Cons
  • There is no stabilizer.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Overall pretty good, an equal number of pros and cons.

The lens is very good considering its price, however, focusing works fine only in good lighting (outdoors and indoors during the day). I took it mainly for indoors when shooting in low light without using a flash (because the built-in one is not very good, and buying the 700th is expensive), but miracles do not happen, so I got tired of looking at many ruined photos due to autofocus errors for this reason sold it and bought a Sigma AF 17-50mm f / 2.8 EX DC OS HSM - just a great fast replacement

Pros
  • - Well, it’s very sharp with 2.0 (I haven’t seen this in either 16-85 or 17-55), the 1.8 hole is also quite working - not bad draws bokeh by budget standards - light - price
Cons
  • - frequent misses in the room when illuminated by incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps (only manual focus will help, maybe puff, but I have not tried it), 90% misses

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

I read a lot about this glass, the reviews were different. But I still decided to buy it. Tested in the store on another camera. I was too lazy to go for my carcass, and there was only one lens, the price of 8890 was quite suitable, and since hot cakes diverge from cheaper than 12022, I didn’t come across. After clicking a little, I liked the picture and decided to take it. Upon arrival home, he put it on his carcass. I printed out test charts, took out a tripod and away we go. After…

Pros
  • Light, light, metal mount. You can go on and on.
Cons
  • Chromatic aberrations, but that doesn't bother me. Overpriced.

I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

excellent lens from the category of "must have". On the crop, the viewing angle becomes a la "fifty kopecks", so you can look at the world through the eyes of our dads and grandfathers :) Definitely a good copy and even the price has recently begun to fall. And in the secondary market it can generally be found at times for 5000. Beautiful bokeh. Widespread filter diameter. Well built, looks good on camera. With my copy there was a hood The resulting images require minimal correction in a…

Pros
  • sharp, contrasting, light, fast, compact, with excellent color reproduction
Cons
  • partly, the price

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, I recommend.

I put 4 because there are no alternatives for that kind of money (I took it for 7 thousand, but it’s always easy to find it from hands for 5-5.5). Now I use the second such lens. The first one passed back after a week and a half of active use just because of the "hares". It was not possible to take pictures at shutter speeds of 1/30 and longer: if there was a lantern in the frame, then due to reflections, the same dimmer lantern appeared upside down somewhere in the corner. And the hood did not

Pros
  • As many have already written: compact, lightweight, fast enough for its price, has good sharpness under certain conditions (starting from 2.8 and beyond), not expensive, convenient focal length, easy to sell, in general, an indispensable thing for a "screwless" camera
Cons
  • It gets dull in low light conditions, autofocus misses, sometimes you have to aim several times, and the most important thing for me: it constantly catches "hares" in the evening at slow shutter speeds, and I can say about bokeh that this is not the best side of this lens

Poor product, below average quality.

Bought this product twice in 2022. The first time I bought it for 6500 in a store, I gave it back because of the purple fringing (I was a beginner with the D5200 camera then) I thought it was abnormal compared to 18-55. It turned out to be normal and typical for all plastic 1.8G. A little later, having bought the D7100, I decided to buy it again from my hands. Found for 3000r as new. I drove, took off on him and this way and that. In parallel, I then had a Sigma 17-70 pants, and so this chic…

Pros
  • 1) Stupidly one snotty "whale" sharpness to pain in the eyes. 2) Small, light 3) Well assembled, metal bayonet
Cons
  • 1) Stupidly one snotty "whale" sharpness to pain in the eyes. 2) Terrible purple fringing at 1.8 - 18-55 has nothing even close similar 3) The drawing is flat-standard, the same flat dull "technical" bokeh. And on 5.6 and then the bokeh becomes just like rough scales flickering. Even the ancient 50\1.8D picture is more expensive and better 4) The price is frostbitten for a new one, and for a used one, too, after 15 years 5) AF is kind of dumb and smearing in difficult conditions

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

I bought it an hour ago. I photographed 200-300 frames. This is a super lens. Before that, I photographed at 18-105mm, on the Nikon d90. In the discussions, I saw that some write that they say that between 18-105 and 35mm the difference is almost not noticeable - THIS IS BOSH. The difference is huge. That lens is definitely good. But this is a miracle. The picture is very pleasing to the eye. Sharp, bright, etc. In general, this is an excellent lens, take it you will not regret it. But at the…

Pros
  • This is a super lens, great aperture, which allows you to get excellent bokeh. Very comfortable FR on the crop. Excellent sharpness, f / 1.8 is quite working. Fast AF. Metal bayonet. Good equipment: lens, hood, pouch. Excellent build. Price.
Cons
  • There aren't any, especially at this price.

The perfect product for any user!

I have been using this lens for more than about three years, I also took it on the d3100, now it is on the d7100 as a regular one and is still happy. For such money there are simply no alternatives to this glass. Autofocus is fast, sharpness in the center of the frame is more than sufficient. A little chromate, but the jambs are easily removed during processing. Focal 35 on aps-c gives the cherished 50mm of a standard lens - not narrow, not wide, but just right. High aperture allows you to…

Pros
  • Light, light, compact, good focal length for crop, excellent quality and affordable price.

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Does not meet my expectations, not worth buying.

Yes, good portraits thanks to f1.8, but even if you try to fit a person in full height, it becomes absolutely useless because there is almost no blur (portrait and portrait in Africa). I spent almost a day comparing with the whale at the same settings, the whale turned out to be sharper and clearer. Due to the Equivalent focal length - a smaller viewing angle, but this is a claim to cropped matrices. ate: lowering to 2, because. became absolutely useless after I bought "Nikon 55-300mm f /…

Pros
  • f1,8 - little light is needed, although there will be no spectacular "bokeh" (in shortcomings)
Cons
  • - Loses to the whale "Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S VR II DX Zoom-Nikkor" in clarity. - I came across a model with a slight back focus, I can't straighten it on the D3300. - Price. ate: - f1,8 - when trying to fit the same object as on a full frame, you need to move away at the same distance * 1.5, there will also be a blur equivalent to f2.7, since we lose the depth of field in direct proportion to the distance from the subject.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A wonderful product, it's nice to use.

I took it as the first and only lens for a DSLR, shot only with it for several months, then used other lenses, but this one remained my favorite, I like the picture from it most of all. Justified expectations by 100%, you can shoot almost anything, including in low light. Although a wide angle is not enough for urban landscapes and cramped spaces, you can almost always take a shot (unlike 50mm, which turn into 75mm on crop.) I think it should be in the arsenal of any novice photographer. Ideal…

Pros
  • optically sharp, light, small, metal mount, convenient focal length, quiet autofocus, price, "native" Nikon
Cons
  • Occasionally, a not very beautiful blur of the background is obtained, somewhat motley, dazzling in the eyes
