The base cannot be disassembled for cleaning.

Orioles love to drink from this, but the design isn't perfect. If you don't tighten the 2 parts of the base as tight as you can, it will leak horribly. Then of course you waste your food and the bees cover it completely so the orioles can't drink from it. Now I can't take the base apart because I made it so tight I can't use it anymore. The bottom half of the base cannot be cleaned. They had to have a large washer or o-ring so the two parts of the base didn't have to be overtightened to prevent

After a little modification, this product works great!

Before buying, I first read the negative reviews. I always do this before I buy a product. The main complaint seemed to be that it was leaking along the seam of the base. It didn't seem like a big deal to me so I went ahead and placed my order. When I received mine I immediately filled it with water to test. Of course it dripped like a sieve. But I fixed it very easily and that's why I'm writing this for everyone to read. Solution: I unscrewed the base, took some tape and wrapped it around the…

  • Everything is fine!

  • Instructions No.

If you're like me, there's always one or more features of any Oriole feeder that don't fit into the picture. This feeder has EVERYTHING - it's so well designed and at a great price! It features a bee guard, retractable perches, and a quality Oriole brew holder - not one that's going to crack and turn yellow in the sun. The S hook is glued to the base of the feeder. My only complaint is that the "oranges" molded into the sides of the feeder need to have a bee guard and a different colored beak…

Poor construction of this leaking product

I couldn't find a Perky Pet Oriole feeder that I had bought in the past so I went with this one. The original I bought lasted about 3 seasons here in Michigan. There are a lot of "wrong" things that don't make it a good feeder, but I was willing to grapple with those things, such as: B. Difficulty cleaning small openings. Container of solution and difficult to hold while filling (unless you have big man hands). The main thing is that when filling the feeder, the seams along which the halves of…

Another oriole feeder defeated by bees.

I bought this feeder specifically to keep the bees out after my last feeder, which had no mechanism to keep them in, went from an Oriole feeder to a bee feeder within hours of installation. became a feeder. So I ordered that. He promised to scare away the bees, since the birds could open the bird feeders with their beaks, but the bees couldn't. You COULD puncture one of the valves and get liquid inside. And here it all ended. It was actually quite amazing to see how they worked as a team and…

Faulty design but overall good feeder

Very small bottle opening. It will be difficult to clean. I finally put it to use 9 months after purchasing it. I bought it as a backup for another one that was about to fail. Unfortunately it is too late for a return. The seal between the upper and lower molds was poor during manufacture and they leak or leak when screwed together. Most of the nectar is lost when hanging. Specifically, the top half screws onto the bottom half like a mayonnaise jar. Contact between them will fail if they are…

Bee Guards Work in Birds

We have used Perky Pet Pinch-Waist Oriole feeders for many years and they have always been great. They withstood the year-round South Florida sunshine well, attracted spotted and Baltimore oriole and hummingbirds dozens of times a day, and had copious amounts of nectar. And for many years we never had a problem with bees. However, this year we have a huge problem with bees. In the morning we hung a new full feeder and when we got home from work we found exhausted and literally half-full dead…
