Although this product was designed for my 2013 Chevy Silvarado, the lock itself was flawless. Please save your money. Warning! at best it is a fancy cosmetic prophylaxis. The action is so intense my fiance can't even turn the key. Purchase at your own risk

They give you an extra very small Phillips machine screw that fits (obviously), but they don't tell you the directions. I have a 2008 Silverado. You need to place the u-adaptor in the location shown (inside the tail cowl) and then use the larger hex head screw to get through the tailgate. After you kick out the little screw you should be fine.

This item was easy to install, I accidentally bought the wrong one and had no problems returning it. Little did I know that my 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD had a new body type and I ordered a lock for the old body. Giving Chevrolet the option to have two body styles in 2007. The PL1300 is easy to install and quick to install. This works great and I'm glad I got the job done myself following the simple steps in the how-to documentation.

I'm having trouble installing it on my '08 Silverado. So I contact Pop & Lock directly. and they wanted to send a replacement for a possible defect. So I told them where I bought it and they said they are not licensed to sell their products on Revain.com and that they are currently in litigation. This was after I sent them photos of the packaging. Luckily, AMAZON totally agreed and refunded my money for the purchase. Any time I have a problem they ALWAYS do it and I mean ALWAYS right.

I installed it on my 2011 Silverado in about 15 minutes. It would have been quicker, but I had to remove the tailgate trim to get to the screws that hold the opening mechanism in place. It was so easy to pull out the handle, reattach the lock and reinsert the handle. The instructions aren't the best, but it's a fairly easy mechanism to understand. However, if you need help, there are videos online showing how to do it. I definitely recommend Pop & Lock.

The box said I received the correct lock. Unfortunately it didn't fit my 2009 GMC. I was also a little disappointed in the quality for the price. On a 2011 Chevy, this product adds a locking mechanism and replaces 2 parts of your truck (a center stud bolt and a tiny metal mounting plate). There are 6 steps. Only step 3 is unclear and the diagram is useless (this is where the small plate that came with your Chevy slides out and is replaced with a lockable mounting insert). That was the right device for my 2008 Silverado. Very easy to install, comes with instructions and online video instructions are also available.
