I bought this unit to replace the Parallax 7345 inverter (not a fan). The noise stops as soon as I turn on any of the 12 volt bulbs. Studies show that this is a bad contact on the circuit board. I contacted Progressive Dynamics to inquire about a replacement. For now, we either have to turn off the converter when we sleep or leave the lights on. Very annoying. I am an electrical engineer and did the installation myself in about 3.5 hours. The system is a big improvement over my old Parallax 6345: it charges faster and the battery doesn't boil as much. There were some issues with the installation guide. They tell you to unplug nine household 12v wires from the old panel and then reconnect them to the new one.
