Defective Unit - Just Missed Return Window

I've used the tester a few times but recently found that the negative battery terminal is broken (not hard on the side that connects to the cable). Ordered on May 8th and shipped on May 9th. I noticed the problem on the evening of June 14th. I just missed the return window for a few days. Now I have to contact Schumacher and send them a tester at my own expense. It's almost not worth the time and shipping cost, but I will do it. Serious quality control issue for a product that has failed on the

Inexpensive lead acid battery test works good

Bought a returned item that was deemed cosmetic damage for $14 and was cosmetically perfect. The problem was that the counter didn't work. I opened it up and the coil spring wire connection was poorly soldered resulting in an open connection. I fixed it and now it works great. The load resistance is 11.2mฮฉ, slightly less than the usual target of 12mฮฉ. for 12V @ 100 amps. I'll probably plug in a DMM connector to get high precision voltage readings that an analog panel meter can't do, so theโ€ฆ

Not very accurate (spare update)

I ran two tests on a 12V lead-acid car battery. One test was conducted under no load and the other test was conducted under load. Both tests also used a digital voltmeter. With no load connected, the DVM shows a battery voltage of 12.5V and the BT-100 shows 12.2V. With a load, the DVM shows 11.4V and the BT-100 shows 10.8V. A good battery can be classified as weak or very good well identified are almost empty, leading to the premature replacement of a good battery. Update: I sent the deviceโ€ฆ

Great for DIY but totally useless for the dead

I've used it to find good and bad batteries among the appliances and vehicles I have. Slightly subjective, but I found it heavier and more stable than me. to be expected in this price range. For about $20 I'm thrilled. Use it carefully when you need it, next time put it back in the box that came in your toolbox and it should look and work pretty much the same when your survivors rummage through your stuff. Probably none of me knows what he's doing, but that's not my problem. I expect 30-40โ€ฆ

I love this tester: Battery Tester

This thing has saved my ass a few times in the last month for both my car and motorcycle. Easy to use and accurate for around $20, it paid for itself in about 10 minutes. If there is a charging problem, you need to trace whether it is the battery or the charging system. This is a mini version of what is used for the free Auto Zone Stress Tester service, but of course you have to bring the car/battery back and forth to test it. The block is light. The cables and clamps are strong, but the cableโ€ฆ

Everyone should have one of these, if not two. buy now

Unfortunately I had to use this battery tester within the same week that I received it. My car died and I had to spend some of my meager unearned earnings on cabs, which I enjoyed as much as an IRS check. After charging the battery, I tested it on this machine. This confirmed that my battery was weak (maybe I needed to charge it a little longer) but was otherwise fine, and also confirmed that my car's charging system was within tolerance, albeit a bit over the top. Because it saved me the price

This is the first battery tester I have ever bought.

This is the first battery load tester that I bought and read all the other reviews before buying. As other reviewers have pointed out, the vents are there because the case heats up and smoke comes out when you turn on the load for a full 10 seconds. Do not leave the switch on for more than 10 seconds as the heat could possibly melt the plastic power button or other plastic components could start to melt due to the heat. The device is very well designed as it has a spring return toggle switch so
