Good product with few issues

Bought to change the oil in the Highlander gearbox - a pump is essential. The product quality is high, no problem with 1 liter oil change. It doesn't reach the bottom of a standard liter gear oil bottle, so either extend it or take +1 bottle. -requires too many pumps for only 1 liter. Not a big problem but if I had to pump 2 liters or more it would be quite difficult. In general - a good quality product with a few issues.

A must for every handyman!

An absolute must for any boater. If you regularly change the lubrication of the lower unit (which you should do), this pump will save you a lot of time and nerves. It's all plastic and probably costs about 10 cents to make, but still the best $6 I've spent this year. It was so nice to just screw the pump onto the bottom block, into the bottle of lube and pump it out. To do this correctly, it should be pumped from the bottom drain hole. I've only used it once so far and it works as it should. No

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some bugs

Works but with some problems.

Bought a few years ago and finally used it. The tubing that attaches (slides) to the bottom of the pump (and sinks to the bottom of the bottle) doesn't fit properly. It just got out of hand! I had to glue it in place to use the device. The pump itself worked well and the adapter for my Mercury 20hp. (tohatsu) fit as stated, but installation with the attached pump was cumbersome (you had to turn the whole block when screwing it in). It still made it easier (when changing all the oil in the…

great sporting product

I have a 20hp Mercury outboard. I didn't need the included adapter, but since I was a rat I kept it in the back of my tool box. This pump works perfectly without leaks and allows very precise lubrication with minimal loss. I installed a pump and a quart of oil so I could see the oil level in the bottle. I then pumped oil into the bottom block until I had nearly 12 ounces. Power is specified in the user manual. At this point I pumped more slowly until the oil came out of the top vent. I found…

Very convenient - Why not longer?

Ok this came in handy when filling my lower units on Mercury 5hp outboards. 1997 and Evinrude 35hp 1983. It came with 4 adapters, one was perfect for Merc and the other was for Evinrude. After screwing it in, it turned out to be a perfect hermetic seal. Easy to pump from a liter oil container. BUT! Why is the pump so short? Is the pump shaft long enough to pump about a 2/3 liter container of oil? Yes, you can pour a liter into another container and pump out of it, but that defeats the purpose…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Operating speed

The hose to the liter bottle is too short to reach the bottom of the jug, it only comes halfway out! Luckily the exhaust pipe is long enough to cut off part of it and stick it into the bottom of the intake pipe. Luckily, it slides right in. I don't quite understand why it's constructed that way, but with a little shadow engineering it can work and siphon the entire contents of the bottle. Remove the top clamp, cut off enough tubing to dig into the bottom of the inlet where it reaches the bottom

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Slightly snapped

AIR LEAK AND SUCTION -

The pump sucks air and leaks. Are any parts missing in the pump? Sucks air. The pump sucks air from the oil bottle when the liquid in the bottle does not reach the bottle neck. I held the bottle horizontally so it would pump. I could only pump half out of each 1 liter bottle and had to pour the oil from bottle to bottle to keep one full enough to keep pumping. The oil dripped down the outside of the bottle with each push of the plunger. I wrapped a rag around the neck of the bottle and kept…

Pros
  • Very impressive

  • I don't really like it, everything is fine

Helps when changing the oil of the lower engine block!

This is the perfect tool to help you change the oil in the lower block of 2-stroke engines. Every off-season I winterize my engine and checking my off-season maintenance list is a quick and easy task. I've used this tool for two seasons and there's no reason I don't think it will last a few more years. This is definitely a job that a handyman can do with his own hands and not have to pay anyone to do it. Check your engine specs and make sure the two washers will fit the two bolts you need to…

Runs but leaks around pump shaft

I bought this item to winterize my boat for the first time. This pump has a lot to offer. The pump housing is screwed onto the lubricant bottle. The pump is connected to a clear vinyl hose and on the other end of the hose is a yellow fitting that screws into the DRAIN PLUG hole on the lower unit. It would be nice if the yellow fitting could rotate as this makes it easier to screw the drain hole in and out. In any case, the entire pump (and attached bottle) should rotate as you screw it into the
