Good to start with.: Sport

Not bad for bottom bracket cranks, unfortunately not very smooth/stiff, there is some play. It's also disappointing that there aren't as many chain customization options as there are chain size. It's 130 bcd so there's no way to upgrade the front sprockets and it makes it difficult to change rear sprockets with a 3/32 wide chain, which is very frustrating.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

The best crankset for your bike

This crankset amazes me, I'm telling you. It was very approachable and buttery smooth. I will never go back to plain old bottom bracket cranks, no sir, this is a new era and a new millennium for the smoothest cranks of them all: Courier cranks. Buy and don't look back (if you don't change lanes, please watch out for an oncoming car).

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

Best upgrade I've bought for my bike

Big upgrade if you use a square cone bottom brake. I can't tell you everything that "attached" this crank to my bike; from speed to efficiency. I believe this set can also be used with the 1x transmission. The best upgrade I've ever bought! Just two concerns. First, the sprocket creaked a bit when first installed. (At first I thought it was the tightening of the bolts between the sprocket and the crank; that's where they fit properly. Just continued to lubricate the bolts where the sprocket…

Deal banger, great product

For around $120 you get a lot. I've been a big fan of SRAM products since I started fixed riding 2 years ago. To date, I have never experienced any problems with their products, especially the GXP line. If you're looking for a new crank and have your eye on this one, I'd say go for it. Or save another $80 and buy some Sram Omniums, treat yourself haha. A few things to watch out for. The 130 bcd sprocket means you can't use standard 144 bcd sprockets here. Not that big of a problem, but for some

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not the best

Good product, poor factory assembly.

Nice and solid. Much less flex than the cranks they replaced. The problem was in the chain. It wasn't perfectly centered on the crank. So it's not perfectly concentric and has vibrations. It's so bad that the chain goes from tight to 1 inch loose in just 1/4 turn. This would be easy to adjust but as some others have said the sprocket bolts cannot be removed. I'm planning on getting a big chain so I'll get to that. Otherwise the stiff chain was in place with no side to side play and looked fine.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Good but not great

Chain cannot be removed

I bought this product because a lot of people recommended this brand to me. Everything was going fine until I tried changing the rear sprocket. The 48t chainring that comes with the crank doesn't fit my frame so I tried removing the bolts to replace it and it was a pain in the ass. I tried special hex wrenches and my mechanics also used the appropriate tools to try them out, but in the end the only "possible" solution was to tighten the bolts. And we failed, the drill broke and we couldn't…

  • Nice packaging

Problematic Crank: Transmission Components

I have had several variants of the S300's older brother, the Ommium. I've never encountered any issues with this crank other than the notoriously unreliable GXP BB bottom bracket it comes with. Since production has stopped, the Omnium S300 is a (pretty) tough replacement until a newer replacement model comes along. Other than that, the grip itself is fine, but the sprocket studs that this model comes equipped with are incredibly insane. I have NEVER spent more than an hour unscrewing even the…

The SRAM S300 system is worth every penny

I am very happy with this system. You're probably wondering if it's worth upgrading from your current set of square cranks. Let me tell you it's like night and day and worth every penny. This SRAM S300 is very well designed, well made, smooth and well balanced, very durable and not too heavy. I was particularly pleased that the chain of my bike's chain stayed perfectly flat after installation. The difference in ride quality between the S300 wedge drivetrain and the old-school square bevel…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • I really don't like anything, everything is fine
