Questionable quality, maybe marriage? 50/50

I bought two of these for my Subaru Outback 06 because both front wheel bearings were bad. Installation was fairly easy aside from the rust. Both worked great for about a year until I had a flat tire yesterday. After installing the factory part, one of the front wheels started making a terrible grinding noise. Even with new tires the noise is still there. I checked and sure enough the wheel bearing was suddenly as bad as it could be (except it fell off right away). I was able to easily wiggle…

3 out of 4 failures in one year, not recommended

Unfortunately, as other reviewers have noted, these Timken bearings did not last long enough to justify the modest cost savings over the original Subaru units. I installed four Timken units on my Legacy GT and in a year and a half and less than 10,000 miles 3 out of 4 of them failed with varying degrees of severity. And 11 months later, one of them failed badly, and the other began to deteriorate. So I replaced both of them with identical new Timken jacks, thinking I might just have a bad batch. They lasted about a year, and then both expired at about the same time. I have again replaced both…

Good bearing for bearings and seals

It's a bit difficult to write a review for this type of product as the real test is if it still works after a few years. My local auto zone had two options, their own brand for $130 or Moog for $180. Timken has a good reputation as a bearing manufacturer. It might not be as good as the Moog, but it's at least as good as Autozone's own brand. Okay now the fun part is pulling out the old hubs! One easily extricated itself from a couple of hits with a heavy hammer, but the other poor posture was a
