frustrating, poor design

I wanted this bracket. Topeak is a good brand with a good reputation but this holder is poorly designed. Rubber does not allow you to remove the bottle with one hand. The adjustable base is useless and doesn't provide the adjustment needed for a range of bottles. I replaced it with a cheap $7 bottle with a holder that works better. upset.

Pros
  • Made of engineering plastic and aluminum.
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Great product but no mounting screws

This is a good product that offers some flexibility with different types of bottles or cans. However, it does NOT come with any screws that are usually part of these purchases. Make sure you still have them on your bike, if not you will have to go to a bike shop. It seems ridiculous that they are not included in the price of this device. Cost is minimal unless you have to drive across town to get two 5mm bolts.

Pros
  • Snap and retractable cage to fit water bottle diameter
Cons
  • Almost never

Less than I thought when I unscrewed the screw all the way.

I bought this Topeak bottle cage to replace the Bontrager RL bottle cage that I originally used on my bike. My water bottle, a 25oz Camelbak Podium Big Chill vacuum flask, is quite narrow. And I find that the rubber "holders" on either side give me a better "grip" on the outside of the bottles. It takes light to moderate effort to get the bottle out, the harder part is when you need to put the bottle back in. I don't know if it will loosen over time and now I'm concerned that the screw's…

OK. but all plastic versions are better.

Bought one of these as well as an all plastic version from Topeak =UTF8&qid=1396844759&sr=1-12&keywords=topeak). Need a bike bottle cage for disposable water bottles. After installing both versions on our bikes, I preferred the all-plastic model as it holds the bottles better without crushing them. It is much easier to place and remove a disposable water bottle from a plastic model. Finally, the metal version feels flimsy and less reliable compared to the plastic version. Paradoxically, I know.

Pros
  • Fits most small and large 63-70mm bottles.
Cons
  • Obsolete model

I wouldn't say it's a really good bottle cage, but it's kind of a bottle cage. I was able to fit in my clean 40 ounce bottle and then a standard sized bottle. A large bottle definitely pushes the limits of what you have to do with it as the base barely fits. The standard size bottle is not particularly tight. However, I recently had a very bumpy ride through dirt and gravel and my bottle stayed perfectly in the cage. I haven't tested the larger bottle in these conditions yet, but I suspect it…

Will not work with my 2.5 " stainless steel bottle

I got this bottle cage to replace my standard boring perfectly working bottle cage. I've never been wrong with Topeak so I settled on this one: I have a 24oz Hydro Flask that is 2.5" diameter, I figured I could swap it out for a larger one and it would fit. Wrong. Luckily I have I didn't buy a big bottle: this one barely fits!I don't know, the friction between the materials, the rubber on the cage and the matt powder coated stainless steel on the bottle, but even with the cage fully open (where
