It is difficult to start if there is a bend in the pipe.

I have two - one for drinking water and one for fuel. They work fine except for one detail. When trying to start the siphon, the spout in the pumped container must be vigorously shaken 10-15 times. If you can remove the bend in the pipe it will start easier, but if it is bent it will not be easy to start. Otherwise it works great.

  • Weight

  • Big and bulky

Great little gadget

Don't waste your money on electric siphons or fancy portable fuel tanks for your boat or jet ski. That's all you need. Three shake and zoom! Instead of trying to lug around a giant tank of gas to fill up a boat on the lake in my backyard, this little guy makes it easy. We can take a 5 gallon tank on the boat and fill up the Waverunner on the go without having to go home when we're out on the lake or ocean all day.

  • handy item
Cons
  • don't remember

Good product but the packaging leaves a lot to be desired.

I have used these products before and they work great. This is no exception, apart from the packaging. The hose is coiled as it should be, except this coiling creates a kink in the hose that will likely go away on its own over time, but initially the kink will reduce flow. I would give this product 5 stars if the reel didn't kink the hose. I'm sure it could have been wrapped better with more care.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Frequency

It worked for my purpose

Works very well. I used it to pour liquid from a container that was too heavy and bulky to lift and pour into a garden sprayer. The only problem was that the clear tubing had to stay coiled up, so the part near the valve tends to get bent. If it's in a large container (rather than a pipe to a gas tank, say) it won't work properly unless it's straight and vertical when you shake it up and down, so I got 6 inches of hard, added reinforced rubber. Hose next to the valve (secured with tape).

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • No performance

Doesn't work in flat gas tank (mower)

I have a pressure washer that had some water in the fuel tank and thought I'd try this one. This lifts some of the gas a little, but no higher, and directs it through the bend, which had to happen for the suction to start. I had to suck my mouth a little bit all the way to get it flowing and then he drained most of the gas from the tank. This tank was nearly full, and it was a large tank, not a small one like a standard lawnmower. very disappointed with it. I would return it but I don't think I

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

It was so twisted in 4 places that it couldn't work at all.

It was wrapped and twisted so tightly that it kinked in 4 places so the opening was completely closed. I tried opening it by flinging the stains and using a hair dryer to soften the plastic. It didn't work - it just kept reverting to its original form. I ended up cutting about 2 feet of tubing to get an open lumen and put the metal cap back on the tubing, but when I tried using it to draw the gas out of the container it didn't work despite many tries. do exactly what they recommended. It worked but was not easy to use

Part of the hose was twisted and difficult to unwind. The hose is stiff and not very flexible, and it got worse when I took it outside in 50-degree weather to dump a 55-gallon barrel of rainwater. I tried making it flat by hanging it up in a warm house but that didn't make it any easier as it was still quite rolled up. The good news was that I started and when I came back the trunk was almost empty. which saved me a lot of time and effort pumping out bucket after bucket with a cistern pumpโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
