Don't worry, it's not strapped to your bucket. Also, you need to pump very fast to make the liquid flow, which is not easy because it does not stick to the bucket and the pumping action is not smooth. After all, it's a far cry from 3 ounces per pump.

I received this item and I think I should have tried it before I drained the oil. First, it is unthreaded so it cannot be screwed onto a 5 gallon bucket of oil. I had to use string to tie it to use it. Second, the anti-drip bearing in the nozzle prevents oil from flowing out of the nozzle. I had to cut and remove the end to allow the oil to flow out. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone even if it was free.

I have never left a product review on Amazon, but this was required. This pump did not fit on any bucket lid, we tried several types. The pump is useless unless it is securely attached to the lid. So it became a two man job, one holding the pump and the other pumping the product, which didn't work either. I purchased this item to pump hydraulic fluid from a standard bore 5 gallon pail. I would never have bought it if I knew it wasn't attached to the bucket at all; I'm surprised anyone would give this product more than one star based on that alone. Holding the pump in the bucket and pumping the liquid can be done with two hands, so you'll need to find a way to hold the outlet in place or hire a helper.
