wanna roll the dice

Installed 14 months ago. After 14 months, the bearing was already loose and noisy, as was the pulley URO 11287841228, which I bought and immediately replaced. It seems that URO shouldn't bother with stocks. This time I will try INA, which someone said is the OEM for BMW.

Failed after 1 year

I just heard that loud squeaking noise again when cold starting and after checking I was convinced that this belt tensioner had failed just over a year ago. I had to search for something, but I was able to find another replacement for it in AutoZone, Duralast 231046. As soon as I installed it, the squeaking went away. I hope it doesn't take longer than a year.

The picture looks like the back of a real pulley, but it isn't.

It doesn't even come close to a hydraulic tensioner. I have an 01" 330xi E46 with one hydraulic and one mechanical pulley and it doesn't fit my E46 idlers. Part # is correct and part is not. The picture looks like the back of a proper pulley but don't be fooled .I returned it for half the price I bought it for but the real thrill is my car got ripped apart waiting for the right pulley I don't know if all the five star reviews are fake are or what but I took a chance took a chance lost money and

Pros
  • Cool product

  • Slightly dented

First find out which tensioner you have.

This is a HYDRAULIC TENSIONER pulley. WILL NOT FIT original MECHANICAL Idler Pulley installation. I can't tell if this tensioner worked well or not. I knew nothing about the two different tensioner assemblies. Meh, my fault I guess. Maybe Amazon needs to update the name to show it's a hydraulic tensioner and not a mechanical one. I had mechanical stress. The part itself looks great, the feel is also pleasant. The bearing makes a very durable impression. IF you have a HYDRAULIC tensioner it will

Failed in less than 4 years

In July 2017 as a preventative maintenance I replaced the drive belts, water pump, pulleys and more. It seemed to be working fine at the time. In May 2021, while driving my well-maintained BMW, my power steering failed. I pull over to find my drive belt dangling in the engine compartment. (see photos) Of course I'm more than 15 minutes away from home. I can't get home without a generator connected. Great, now I'm in a bind. Further investigation revealed that the pulley I replaced (which worked
