NON-ADJUSTABLE PAD!

WARNING! This product is non-refundable, which I didn't see before purchasing. This is NOT an adjustable strike plate, although Amazon directed me here after searching for those exact terms. While this can solve problems with a non-vertical door, it's no good for a door that needs to close tighter. The back panel should have a screw groove so it can be adjusted, but it doesn't. This is false advertising in my opinion and I am very upset that Revain will not accept returns a few days after…

Not designed to tightly attach door to seal - non-returnable

The adjustable part relies on two very thin metal plates on the inner panel to tighten the door. If your door frame is bent along with a door with a gap, the extra pressure needed to close the gap will also bend the metal back. The item is NOT RETURNED, so you are stuck. This will work in many cases but not in mine. It seems to be better suited for interior doors where no additional pressure is needed. The inner plate has adjustable slot retainers and notches around the slot that keep it in…

Believe me, this is an EASY fix for doors that won't lock!

I never heard of this until fixing an interior door in my house that never closed (for a few years!) became a priority. I googled the solutions and "lipstick test" was one of the first results. I did this and verification confirmed that the latch hit the firing pin too low. My door hinges were tight so it looked like I would either have to discard the existing striker plate or slide the whole thing down. I made my own list of items you can buy at the hardware store - a chisel, a certain type of

I would love to buy this first one

One of my original wooden door handle door locks has become very wobbly. By wobbling I mean that under no circumstances will it hit the existing strike plate. I've tried every setting on YouTube - epic fail no matter what I try. I even pulled out my computer USB microscope to see the problem up close and personal. Everything MUST work. The main problem was that the door frame was in less than perfect condition due to a number of previous repairs. I still had a fully functional latch and a…

Works great but a bit "hacky "

First of all, this solved my problem. I had a door that used to have a deadbolt that shut it tight, but when I bought new doorknobs there was no deadbolt for what I needed. This loosened the latch, causing the latch to rub heavily when attempting to close it. I have a Kevo SmartLock so it wouldn't fully close most of the time. This product has narrowed the latch hole and the door is now held in the perfect position to eliminate all friction when closing the latch. However, the reason I'm giving

However, the Gator strike plate is perfect for my needs.

The Gator Strike Plate was the perfect solution to my door that would not close after installing the new Kwikset Antique Brass Door Lock with Kwikset Striker. The problem was with the door, not the lock. In the 45 years that my house has existed, the old door latch and strike plate on the frame have shifted vertically so the latch sits low on the latch. You can see it in the attached photo on the left. So the correctly installed door latch from the new Kwikset lock also sat under the new…

Went like clockwork!

After reading many reviews I doubted if this would work or not. I had foundation piers installed a few days ago and part of my house was leveled. As a result, the lock on the front door stopped sticking. The bolt could still be closed (because the hole in this strike plate was made very long), but the latch wasn't so lucky. Since the previous owner had installed new metal doors and frames AFTER the house had caved in, the door was slightly misaligned now that the house is back where it should…
