I really wanted to like these shorts. They feel like a soft, heavy, brushed fabric. Definitely not lightweight or breathable but I feel they hide sweat well. I'm 5ft 4in, 110-115lbs, size 0-2, pants and skirt. I have XS, but unfortunately they just aren't made for petite figures. They are well made. The weird thing is that the "leg" of the shorts in front reaches a point just above the knee, so to speak. I wanted them because they looked modest, almost to the knees. However, when viewed from the side, the front of the "leg" is lower than the back and appears to reach a point on the front of the knee. The hem is quite stiff at the moment and hasn't softened yet. First, the quality of the fabric and tailoring is the best. I am 5ft 4ft and 120#. I ordered a large one. Just a bit big but very comfortable to sit on. The fabric is soft and feels comfortable. So for shopping, walking, relaxing and general comfort I would say a high 5! If you need more social features, food, socializing, etc., consider the middle option.
