This is the second time I have bought (and replaced) the same air filter on a reliable 2006 CRV. The first one still looked decently clean after I replaced it with my last purchase. My only question is, why do regular auto parts stores still have ridiculously high prices when they know people will continue to buy them at a discount from Revain? DIY highly recommended for 2006 CRV.

Don't skimp on that junk air filter, get your car OEM part number

If you compare this to the stock Honda filter for your CR-V you will see that this fram is about 3/ 8" shorter, reduces the tightness of the air chamber and can allow dirt to get in, especially if you use it for a long time or live in a dusty climate. Luckily I saw a YouTube video that brought this to my attention, and am Went to my nearest dealer and gave them my VIN number to get an exact filter for my car so I didn't get it until a few weeks later and saw next to nothing. Received. It only…

DO NOT BUY THIS FOR 2006 CRV AND MAYBE OTHERS.

Please see my photo. This filter is not high enough for my 06 Crv. The filter I'm comparing to in the picture is called Napa Pro Select. It's a tight fit on the underside and there's satisfactory resistance when you press on the top air filter cover. This frame debris has no resistance and lies loosely on the lower lip. I've been discontinuing the filter for a month and decided to test it out to see how it looks. My inlet post filter has dust that I wiped off when it was originally installed…

Slightly different than picture

I got one like this for my 2006 Honda CRV. As can be seen in the picture, there is a metal mesh outside and inside the filter material. The one I got only has mesh on the inside. I'm assuming it's a design change. I'm not sure how this affects performance, if at all. It's nice to get a filter for less than $12 compared to replacing it and going to a dealer's labor. Watch on YouTube how easy it is to change the filter yourself and save a lot of money. After all, I drove 30,000 miles until I…
