This is a great product with cutting edge technology and a great price. The color is really white and very smooth when installed. Installation was easy and the instructions are clear. I highly recommend this detector.

When I was playing around with them I thought they were defective. I could not connect the device to the base. Then I realized that a battery needs to be installed for the locking mechanism to work. This is a very smart feature that I love, but I want to clear it up here in case anyone else thinks there's a problem.

Received these on December 31st 2018 and quickly installed all three in our 2010 40ft-5. Rad. It caught fire on the evening of January 2, 2019. The fire occurred in the 5th wheel area (bottom/outside) and the smoke detectors on that end never beeped. We tested them afterwards and they did great. There was no flame in the trailer.
