Buy, recommend for equipment

Excellent product. study and beautiful appearance. Big mailbox. I used some type of cement that you just mix and pour to make sure it stays nice and strong because I have a mound. 2 people work.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Neat mailbox! in post mount mailboxes

This Gibraltar mailbox is easy to install. It looks good. It's solidly built. It's all steel from top to bottom. I recommend anchoring it to solid concrete because it will wobble a bit if it just gets stuck in the ground. The price is reasonable too. 5 Stars.

I'm glad I wasn't listening

so almost bought this box because of the reviews. I'm glad I wasn't listening. this mailbox looks good in front of our house and looks much more expensive when set up. We keep getting compliments from our neighbors and they can't believe there are only 30 pieces in the set. Sometimes I think people just want to complain about any product.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Labor Required: Post Assembly Mailboxes

You must cement (1 bag) or it won't stay. I like the price and the small size as I no longer need a large mailbox. But the worst thing is how the box sits on its metal base. The arms move so that it wobbles. Mine came with a very tight door so the whole top moved when I tried to open it. After a few zips and tucking in the latch to make it easier to open/close, this turned out to be a functional mailbox. I didn't want to spend more, so I'm happy with it for now, but if you don't want to mess…

Strange rack mounting, didn't figure it out, returned item

Rack in two parts, with holes for screws, the legs of a cone. I couldn't figure out how to connect them and the illustration of the other part didn't show anything. He just said to assemble them with screws. It didn't make sense to me because one part slides into the other so the screws can't go through both and what are the grooves for? In the end I sent the item back. I recommend that you always try to collect things before cementing any part of it into the ground! I tried to assemble it in…

This is the first time I'm setting up a mailbox.

What a job. I didn't know our soil was so rocky and so grave-proof. Screw Tip: They were easier to tighten by holding the hex side with pliers and fully tightening them with a screwdriver. The neighbors have strong wooden poles so I'm hoping this will hold up. On the other hand, it looks way better than all those bulky wooden shelves. The only downside is that the lid is quite tight and I couldn't figure out how to adjust it according to the instructions. Did my postman bother me leaving my…

Besides a great product! Just not there yet.

We cemented the post part of the mailbox and it held up very well! Unfortunately, I wish I was more impressed with the mailbox part itself. In particular, we encountered two distinct problems. The largest has a bracket to hold the mailbox to the post. The top of the rack fits the bracket decently (maybe a little tighter), but it's pretty close to what you need. However, the post holes and the bracket holes (ours at least) weren't on the correct or matching sides, so it wasn't possible to…

This is a great mailbox, but be careful when installing it.

The mailbox is very easy to set up and ready to use. It looks great and is much cheaper than other mailboxes of comparable size and height. A nice touch is the "mail" that adds strength as well as a touch of "class" to the mailbox. The lid closes securely and if I had only one complaint it would be that you actually have to press firmly to close it and pull with some force to open it. Of course, the mail is protected from all weathers because it is safely stored in the mailbox. Our postman…

I didn't use cement!

Bought 2 wall mounted mailboxes but didn't like the look of them. Also, I didn't want to drill holes in freshly painted plaster. I looked around and decided on this mailbox and post office. Ironically this comes with a post box AND post and is still cheaper than the wall mounted post box I bought and returned. One of them was even made of plastic! The assembly was very easy. The hardest part was digging a sufficiently deep hole in such a limited space. (I decided to install it right on top of…
