It smells terrible. Chemical smell.

The chemical smell lingers in the pad and microwave as well. The company won't tell you what chemicals the beads or fabric are made of. Very doubtfully something that smells this way is in reality non-toxic. Unfortunately, as we age our sense of smell decreases and several positive reviews may reflect this fact.

Pros
  • Ideal for reducing muscle tension and stress
Cons
  • The ties may fray or become damaged easily

Thermalon has made a better version of this product.

I used a similar Thermalon product, and thought that I was buying the identical product, but the other product (which I left in a hotel microwave!) was heftier, and held heat for a longer period of time. I do not know if this unit is a replacement of the other one, or if Thermalon makes different sizes. It is so close in size and function to my first product that I have to believe it is a replacement. If it is, it is a disappointment, and I will not purchase it again. If it is not, then I am…

Pros
  • Easy to use - just microwave and apply
Cons
  • May be too heavy or bulky for travel

Worked great on my shoulder

I used this wrap to warm my shoulder up prior to my home rehab program after surgery for a rotator cuff repair. It was quick to heat up and easy to use. I have also used it on my lower back.

Pros
  • This works so good, I had to buy one for my sister.
Cons
  • The heat may not penetrate deep enough into the muscles for effective therapy

Wrap blows up in the microwave causing injuries

Microwaved per instructions and the pouches holding the pellets burst causing burns, poor construction and the manufacture & Best Buy refuse to honor an exchange for a defective item

Pros
  • Very helpful if you have back issues
Cons
  • The ties may be uncomfortable or cumbersome

The thoracic spine good for me

Been using Thermalon for years! I wish it were still available with Velcro straps as it suits the thoracic back better and easier to adjust to my needs.

Pros
  • Really works to comfort my back with the heat. It brings instant relief and so easy to use
Cons
  • May not provide enough pressure for effective pain relief

I love these pain relieving wraps.

I HAD ONE OF THESE FOR YEARS AND IT WAS THE ONLY THING THAT GAVE ME RELIEF FROM TERRIBLE BACK SPASMS. IT WAS GETTING PRETTY RATTY SO I ORDERED TWO MORE IN CASE THEY STOPPED MAKING THEM. I DONT KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO WITHOUT THIS. A MINUTE 30 SEC. IN THE MICROWAVE AND IT GIVES ME ALMOST INSTANT RELIEF.

Pros
  • Provides warm, soothing relief for back, hip, and shoulder pain
Cons
  • Could be difficult to tie properly for some users

Cons

GREAT! But not as long as the pic shows.

Great product, life-saver, truly awesome. Pain is pain and when ANYTHING relieves it, this is gold but. not as big as the picture shows. The pic shows a grown man with the entire lower back covered. It would be great if they extended two inches on either side. Most of the nerves in this area innervate the side of the hips to so if they wanted to have a perfect product, I would change that.

Pros
  • Very impressive and easy to use. My lower back loves it.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for customers with sensitive skin

Works great! - my new review

I am giving the Thermalon moist heat tie wrap five stars. I needed moist heat for my hip and it delivers. As it is not a typical electric generated heating pad, I didn't have the expectations of it staying hot forever. While it does appear to lose heat before you are wanting it to, a feel of your body will tell you that's where all the heat went. Even if the wrap is no longer hot/warm to the touch, it is still maintaining the heat at the body location. So I leave it in place longer than one…

Pros
  • NATURAL PAIN RELIEF: A therapeutic microwave activated moist heat wrap that relieves back pain, muscle pain, soreness, and stiff joints while providing relief and comfort
Cons
  • May not offer enough heat for those with chronic pain

It has been a little while since I purchased this and just want to give my opinion on how this product has helped my husband and I. We both use it, but he has more back issues than I do. It is gre

Pros

Moist heat wrap for back, hip and shoulders

I love this heat wraps for several reasons. They can be tied around the waist, shoulder, hip wherever there is an ache that needs heat to be bring some relief. Not only it soothing but the amount of heat is controlled by you. You can microwave it for a longer or shorter period. When it gets ugly, dirty it can be hand washed and air dried. And then it's ready for use all over again. Well worth the money and it lasts what seems like a forever.

Pros
  • Simple and effective solution for menstrual cramps
Cons
  • May not provide effective therapy for certain types of injury

I've had this for several months, and have had no issues with it. I use it on my knee at night, wrap the ties under my knee and use a safety pin to hold them in place. In my microwave, I heat it for about 1 min 45 sec, and it lasts for about an hour. Be very careful on how long you heat these - the amount of time needed varies depending on the strength of the wattage of your microwave. The more watts, the shorter the time to heat it! I've seen reviews where it melted - I would bet those people…

Pros
  • Wish it would keep heat a bit longer but it works well.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for customers with certain medical conditions

Does the job. good for me

This actually does quite a nice job as a heating pad after just a little time in the microwave. I bought it for my shoulder rather than my back so you really cannot, "tie", it in place. That said, it is heavy enough that I found by just draping it over the shoulder it won't move.unless of course you want do a lot of walking around.Overall, I recommend this pad if you have areas you want to apply heat to, especially the back, neck, and leg areas. Shoulders.a little tricky, but doable.

Pros
  • no era para mi, era para mi tía pero le encantó, unos minutos en el microondas y ya genera calor
Cons
  • May not offer enough relief for severe pain

Back relief just where you need it

I like this moist heat wrap because it fits well in the microwave, heats up quickly, feels like it has sturdy seams and craftsmanship, and it stays hot for about 15 minutes. Where it falls short are the straps. I would like to see a snap, button or Velcro to hold the two sides together. They are useful to adjust the wrap behind your back, however. Overall, I would recommend this product if it meets your needs.

Pros
  • Can be used multiple times throughout the day
Cons
  • Could be too hot for some users to tolerate

Works great best in my review

Can be used as a cold or hot compress. Designed with long straps so you can position it on any part of your body that hurts and keep it there. So you can move around if needed. I had one at my house that my boyfriend used on his back pain. He liked it so much I bought him this one.

Pros
  • Provides natural relief without the need for medication
Cons
  • Could be difficult to use for those with poor eyesight or coordination

This may be a good heating pad for a shoulder, arm or hand, but not wide enough for a back. It's more like 6 1/2 inches by 8 inches. Definitely not the 7 x 12 advertised. The wrap ties--no velcro, so it has to be tightened often if you're trying to walk around the house or move around in the kitchen. It's OK for some areas maybe. For my purposes, I just didn't like it and I lost the paperwork to return it.

Pros
  • I liker it very much, and I bought three for myself and some for friends.
Cons
  • May only provide temporary relief
