Different but similar

So when I first saw them I was like, 'Wow, this is a game changer! Super idea!" But I will say after working with them they are similar to the standard embedded nuts when installed. The reason is that they are not as easy to fit as advertised and then the washer will not fit properly if Don't push them in. I'm not sure if I did anything wrong with the installation but I followed a few tutorial videos to make sure I didn't miss anything Overall they are quite durable and help to maintain…

Perfect fit for Startech stand

First of all I don't understand the comments that it doesn't fit the Startech stand. I have a Startech 4 Post Rack (4POSTRACK25U) and the red ones fit perfectly. They even fit in my NavePoint 2 25U rack. They are very easy to use. My 2-post rack is used as a network lab where I constantly add, remove, and move equipment. With RackStuds, this process is very simple. Less swearing and no damaged fingers! They have been holding my very heavy 2U UPS with no play for 3 months now, even my heavy…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Haven't installed anything on them yet but they appear to be of decent quality. However, I've seen several reviews with the same problem as me: I got 20 "cleats", 20 "washers", but only 18 "thumbscrews". So extra studs and washers are essentially useless. Additionally, if you decide most mount gear uses 4 of these, I can only mount 4 items instead of 5, so I basically have a 16 item set. Judging by the fact that multiple people have had the same issue, I suspect they pack them by weight and use

This is how shelving is fun!

We are professional IP security camera system installers. We build many network cabinets and racks with POE switches. We got tired of using standard cage nuts and felt sorry every time we had to build them. We were really just looking for a tool to get the 'Ooh!' from working with them when we found these Rackstuds. I ordered a pack of 100 just in case they are as pretty as they look. I have to say we just built 4 cabinets with 10 switches and extra wiring and really enjoyed building them. We…

IF THE WASHER WILL NOT FIT, TRY THIS

When I saw this product I was amazed at how easy it was to use compared to cage nuts. However, when I got them, I found it quite difficult to get the puck into the rack. Depending on the stance you adopt, you may or may not have problems with it. I use an OEM rack and to install the washer I had to use a black screw cap to insert the washer. The steps are as follows: 1) Insert the rail bolts at a 45° horizontal angle, making sure the side with the washer insert faces the inside of the rack…

new normal for nuts

Other reviewers miss the point. Bro, do you even do rackmount? The manufacturer also misses the point in advertising. They do an absolutely terrible job of promoting the true merits of their overpriced product. (Price will be the last item in my review). Cage nuts are easy to install and remove. You can use an expensive $35 tool or a cheap $1 tool. Or a screwdriver. For about $10 you can get a Toyota Camry-level tool that just gets the job done and needs nothing else to look at. For $35 and up,
