Nice medium speed modem with VOIP

Easy install, MAC address sent to Comcast via chat and was ready in 15 minutes. (The automatic activation process didn't work) It only takes 2-3 minutes to fully reboot after a power outage, Internet and phone are 100% reliable since installation. Tested in my service maxing out at 90MB/s, should work with higher tiers up to 400MB/s. The center is a little hot, so good ventilation is recommended. Overall a good choice for the average internet with voice.

Buying your own modem is a smart move, and used ones are fine, but

Cable companies don't make it easy to bring your own gear, but it's a smart move. As many other people have said, getting xfinity technologies to enable VOIP never seems to work out-of-the-box, but make sure you get two MAC addresses from the modem and have them handy if it inevitably doesn't work. from the box. Fortunately, the DOCSIS modem data works after the first ring. And I waited a day to call back and pick up VOIP. It took 3 technicians but I finally activated it and it worked. Since…

Fixed Speed, Fixed Price Sweetspot Modem

Achieve decent speed and uptime for over a week after installation. The installation instructions did not help me. Requires a call to xfinity to set it up. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it took several attempts to get the modem to work. I spent about an hour on the phone with the xfinity tech but she didn't give up or give up. She knew exactly how to set up data and voice. There was no need to speak to different people as other reviewers suggested. She also knew that the Mac's data and…

It was cool when it worked.

Everything worked fine with the unit until I bought it about three months later. Now the device turns off at a random time every day, literally for no reason. The only way to bring this device back online after the failure is to unplug the device and plug it back in. When students study at home and I work from home and restart my modem every day, it's a huge task. It's not an electrical issue or anything as the modem and router are the only devices on our circuit so the problem is literally the

Great Customer Service - Quality Product

There was a Motorola Wifi Gateway with a very buggy router. Many disputes also arose between Motorola and Xfinity in an attempt to solve the problem. None of them provided any real evidence as to why. I connected it to a separate WiFi router and it seemed to work, but Motorola became a router again. So we chose this Arris modem and a separate router. The Arris modem booted up correctly, but Xfinity CS said they couldn't see it, so (as usual) it must be bad. When they called Arris they asked me…

Great modem for speeds under 1GB

Great modem for speeds under 1GB which is more than adequate for the average household. I have blaster internet and am downloading over 200MB - a lot. To reinstall Xfinity Easy Setup, plug in the new modem and wait for the Power LED - US/DS - Online to turn blue. Using a browser, most likely on your mobile phone, go to xfinity/activate and follow the instructions. Replacing an existing modem with higher speeds is more than easy, but not bad. Disconnect the old modem and connect everything to…

Redeems itself. It is not easy!

Paying $14 a month for an XFInity modem/router got on my nerves, especially since I use my own router for the "routing" part of the network and only need the modem. $99 for this modem seemed like a no-brainer! I also bought three Rokus for $30 because you can use them as Xfinity cable boxes by running the Xfinity app. So for about $200 with taxes on the entire shipment, I'm saving $44 a month in my account, which is about a 5 month payback. The account went from $211 to $167. Some things to…
