ATTENTION! Not for heavy wheels

Fork or saddle (which holds the spare wheel) is too small. look at my picture I looked again at the description of this product and it does NOT list the size of this part ANYWHERE. That's how it should be, because this lift is not designed for heavy wheels. The only thing that saved me was using an old shackle from my broken elevator and welding it to the one I bought. Not perfect, but better than messing around with yields. If I had known the rod was too small I would not have bought it.

Perfect product and some tips

This product is a replacement for the product that came with my 2010 Silverado which anyone looking for this product already knows. I would recommend purchasing the correct lift for your truck. It's 20.00 more but it fits perfectly. The quality of the hoist is comparable to the original part. The delivery was very fast as usual, the lift is in my truck and seems fine. The only problem with the process was getting the old one off, the factory had Loctite on the bolt and it took quite a while to…

Perfect for OEM 1500 Silverado rims.

I purchased this to replace an OEM lift on my recently purchased 2011 Silverado 1500 that has spent most of its life on dirt roads in North Dakota. It was very difficult to turn to the point where I was concerned I would break the jack handle tube. This block was an easy replacement and was much easier to crank. I would suggest that before you loosen any bolt holding the lift in place, you lube it with a hell of a liquid wrench. There have been comments that the carrier mount that fits into the

Fits perfectly and very easy to assemble.

I have a 1999 GMC Sierra pickup and I think the tire shop flipped the lift upside down when changing the spare tire and blocked it so I couldn't lower the spare tire anymore so I bought this one to replace it. The 1999 models only had a cable drum like this one and didn't have the added mechanical hook securing of later GM trucks that rust and get stuck. I put two ratchet straps around the spare wheel and over the crossbars on the chassis frame to hold the spare wheel while I cut the spring on…

GMC spare tire winches bind and prevent use of spare tire

If you have a GMC/Chevy truck/SUV built since 2001, your spare tire may get stuck under the truck. is a "secondary safety locking mechanism" on a GMC "spare wheel winch" that gets stuck in the "locked" position due to rust/salt/dirt etc getting on your truck's chassis. Once this safety latch is engaged you will need a gas cutter to remove the spare tire. If you drive in places where winter means snow and salty gravel on the roads, it will eventually get stuck in the 'locked' position and once…
