Description of Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Arctic SUV 205/70 R15 96T winter

The studded tire, developed for crossovers and SUVs and released for the winter season of 2014, is designed specifically for use in northern countries with harsh winter climates. With excellent grip and easy handling on snow and ice, this tire has noticeably low rolling resistance, which is good for fuel economy. Features: Innovative "Multi Control Ice" studding. A feature of the tire is new directional studs, which have an original shape not only for the body, but also for the carbide insert. The body of the stud has three curved edges, which, with the help of a new fastening technology, make...

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

This is the first time I have bought the same tire model for the second time in a row. Well, because objectively there is nothing to complain about.

Pros
  • 1. EXCELLENT HANDLING AND BRAKING. Icy asphalt, rolled snow, snow porridge, puddles - excellent. There have never been episodes of aquaplaning, driving 100 on a wet road is quite acceptable. 2. WEAR RESISTANCE. I'm rolling the second set of these tires, the first set was on the previous car. Then I ran into them for four seasons and a total of about 50,000 km. During this time, 13.37% of the studs were lost (calculated), and the tread wear was near zero. This means that for 5-6 seasons they will definitely be enough. 3. PASSABILITY. By the manufacturer, these tires are positioned as winter off-road tires, which is evidenced by the presence of side lugs and an aggressive tread pattern. Indeed, the previous car was a compact front-wheel drive sedan with a ground clearance of 155 mm and a power of 115 forces. And even on it I never got stuck in 4 seasons, although I went every day. Including I never got stuck in February 2022, when some kind of heavy rainfall fell sharply in Hong Kong and snowdrifts on the streets and in the yards disappeared only when it got warmer. Now the car is different: diesel, all-wheel drive and with 400 N * m. Accordingly, there were no problems with cross-country ability. 4. THOUGHT. Here we are talking about just one chip: these tires have special "influxes" that protect the disc from curbs. I am a fan of parking close to the curb, and this is important for me: on Continental summer tires, for example, there are no such influxes, and there is already wear on the rear right disk. And here it is not a threat. 5. PRICE. No worse than the top Nokian and Michelin, but a little cheaper. The balance between price and quality is perfect.
Cons
  • At the moment I can say that these tires have no cons. But I want to make a reservation: the previous set was 205*55*16 made in Poland and it was quite noisy. And now 225 * 60 * 17 of German production and it is much quieter. At temperatures above zero, it slows down a little waddedly, but not critically.

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

Judging by the reviews and our own experience, there are reasonable suspicions that either the quality of the studding of these tires "floats" from batch to batch and there is insufficient quality control in production, or the manufacturer consciously, in different years of production, changes the composition of the tire mixture, which, in turn, it affects the strength of the studs in one direction or another, and at the same time, some other characteristics of the tire change, which he sees as

Pros
  • Rows well on snowy porridge. Predictable on ice. Quite confidently behaves on asphalt. For sane money, the tire is almost-premium class.
Cons
  • I will not write about the hum, because. if there is no noise from spikes on a studded tire, then either the spikes do not work for you, or they all fell out, or you have KontiAysKontakt 2, which is 40% more expensive than this Goodyear. And so, I saw noisier spikes. Enough to remember Yokohamovskie products. But here's what I can write in the shortcomings is the loss of spikes. Moreover, I had these tires on Skoda (Polish production), where the studs fell out to a minimum over 3 winters, but on Renault (German production) they fell out on two cylinders by about 50% and this is about 1.5 winters! But! For the sake of objectivity, it should be noted that the mileage in these winters was much higher than the standard for most car owners, and there was not much snow. The photo clearly shows significant wear of the spikes on the two central tires, and the almost complete absence of dropped spikes on the two outer tires.

Good product for me, no problems at all.

in general, I would buy again if my size did not cost 20k (more expensive than Conti). for today 15shka its price is the ceiling. Has some pros: excellent tire for handling and flotation. for those who travel outside the city in winter, where sometimes the roads are not cleaned, then it itself. otezdil four seasons and kept the road even after the loss of spikes. 265-65-17 under a 2.5 ton kiosk - quite comfortable and not too noisy. I did not observe any "terrible hum" at all. Well, there is a…

Excellent product, the best quality.

I left for five winters on the last set, it would be necessary to save money - I would go further! I won’t lie, a lot of spikes flew out, but the tread cut is so steep that I didn’t notice the clutch change at all!

Good product for me, no problems at all.

Spikes are one of the best that I managed to ride, I’m always sure of them on the road, outside the city in general their element - and you can drive on ice and on a snow crust, and most importantly, in this mode, the tires are not killed in the trash, I’m in 2 winters I often went fishing, often even where no one had gone before me, and nothing, the tires were alive, I never even cut it.

The perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

As described above - very positive. Before that, I was not familiar with Goodyear. I bypassed this brand in favor of Michelin and Continental, but given the pricing, I hit Goodyear successfully. Pros: Price-quality ratio. Low noise (depending on the car and soundproofing) of course. Most of all I liked the behavior of the car in winter, unexpected confidence in driving on any road, both during acceleration and braking. It rides great in the snow too. After three years of not very intensive use,

The right product for me, there were no problems.

I bought myself a 225/55 R18 for a Duster. Rubber liked. The only downside is the noise. But this is a large tread and spikes, there is no escape from this. During the snowless winter of 19/20, only a couple of spikes flew out. The speed is not bad. True, I don’t drive more than 130 in winter, well, maybe a couple of times to check the tires. In general, an excellent product.

Pros
  • Good grip.
Cons
  • No

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is completely satisfied, performs its functions.

After one season, I can say the following: I ran the tires on the asphalt (about 800 km), not a single spike flew out for 5000 runs, there was no wear at all, even the snowflakes around the spikes were not erased on the rear wheels. Driving style "moderately aggressive". Road holding is good enough. Machine CX-5 4x4. Attached is a photo of the tires after 5000 km. Operation in Hong Kong

Pros
  • Soft, compared to the summer is very noticeable. Excellent road holding
Cons
  • Very noisy on dry pavement

I’m operating the second season, and this is about 10t. Km, I can’t put up with just the noise after the Velcro, although after several thousand runs they became noticeably quieter, the pulsating howl after 60km / h on the pavement strains. Moreover, the more severe the weather and the worse the road, the quieter the tires! Of the benefits: excellent grip on clean asphalt in the thaw, on icy asphalt, rolled snow, etc. , perfectly rows on the pillars and frozen snow, the pattern, it must be…

Pros
  • braking, accelerating, holding on any surface
Cons
  • noise

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

Acceleration, braking everything seems to be good, but with spikes it could be better. The first season rolled like an old stump, rolled, but did not help. After the first season, 50% of the spikes fell out, and the rest remained like milk teeth. I do not recommend to buy. Before that, I rolled back on the hack for 5-6 seasons and I had about 80% of spikes left there, but the cord went.

A good balance of price/quality, recommend it.

car Qashqai, size 215/60 R17, three seasons experience. for all three seasons of use, the rubber left only a good impression, passed, where others were lost, there were also hits in large pits, twice, the tires survived, even at the end of these three seasons, the tire looks quite solid, many spikes are not lost, the sidewalls are almost intact, offhand, if nothing serious happens, I’ll skate for another two seasons

Pros
  • strong and reliable
Cons
  • noisy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product for me, I was satisfied with the price.

Pros below: soft at any temperature, unusual tread pattern, powerful studs, cuts porridge well, in general, the grip is "on the level" on all types of winter roads Cons: noisy from 50 to 100 km / h on asphalt, the noise in the form of a pulsating rumble, it really infuriates, because Goodyear should not be an amtel .

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is top notch, be sure to try it.

Took on Kia Sportage 4 generations. When choosing tires, I read that size 15 and 16 are made in 2022, and 17 in Germany. I made an order in the online store and they brought it really "made in Germany". I don’t know what they write there that spikes fall out, it’s possible that 2022-made ones fall out, but specifically for my rubber, for two winters of intensive use, all the spikes are in place! Rubber is noisy. still more suitable for loose snow than for asphalt.

Pros
  • R17 is really made in Germany. Perhaps this is why the spikes are all in place after two winters. On the snow just super rowing. patency is just great!
Cons
  • Really noisy. On the asphalt, it makes noise as if a heavy helicopter is taking off. those. driving on asphalt is not comfortable. In my opinion, he does not like rutting - he strives to throw him out of the rut.

Money to nowhere, poor quality of the goods.

The service is just awful. Actually, they don't have a service. I ordered tires on March 13 on the website, the delivery time was indicated on March 17, I called the operator on the afternoon of March 17 and said wait, they will bring it today. I call after 18 hours, the operator answers me today, the tires will not be delivered to you and most likely they are simply not in stock, so they were not delivered to you, he said he would clarify the information and call back. the next day no one…

Pros
  • the quality of the rubber and then it will be possible to check it only in winter. looks like the norm. tires Goodyear UltraGrip Ice Arctic SUV 215/55 R18 99T XL , online payment after delivery
Cons
  • postponement of delivery dates, low level of training of operators, do not inform customers about changes

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Does not meet my expectations, it was not worth buying.

Well balanced tires for their price of 6.8 for R17. Two years later. Quickly loses spikes, which does not correspond to the price category. Disappointed in the results of winter operation. Some pros: Good cross-country ability: where many tires strive to dig in in winter, these slowly float further. Excellent hold "straight" on the pavement, little sensitive to the rut on the track. Good lateral stability, especially in sharp turns. Low noise level (did not notice any special hum) - no more…

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

4 wheels on a Patriot VAZ in the amount of 245 / 70R16 for 40 thousand is a bit expensive for me. I took good tires - there is a house in the village, sometimes I want to go for a week in winter. Snowfalls are good there, the road is not cleaned often, so I approached the choice of rubber with special requirements: non-studded - I still wanted silence, good grip both in the city and on the highway, controllability, predictability, confidence. The UltraGrip Ice Arctic SUV fit the bill and never…

Pros
  • copes well with loose snow, off-road and snowdrifts.
Cons
  • a little expensive
