The inner diameter was not milled the full length of the spacer which did not allow sliding along the axis. It was useless!

Had a latch at the end of the chain link on a round post and the gate was square. I soldered these spacers to the square post to make a hinge. It worked great.

Used as a spacer on wagon axles. I didn't need anything perfectly finished so everything worked fine with no modifications.

Spacers appear to be generally well made parts with a moderate defect. As received they don't quite fit the 5/8" axle, each of the 6 pieces gets stuck about 4/5 on the axle. All 6 have the same manufacturing defect. I solved the problem using a Dremel sanding drum, but I didn't have to.

I feel like a reasonable customer. I've read the reviews and when in doubt I agree with the Hillman band. What I received was a product that kept grinding incorrectly. As the other reviewer wrote. useless. Now I don't know if they were just recycled from returns from other users, or if the Hillman group's quality assurance is that bad. but if i were you i would seriously stay away from these guys. I bought these to use as a holder for cheap forged washers on a new Chinese 8" 5/8 shaft bench grinder. I knew from previous reviews that the ID would be too small and would need to be edited before use. Good thing I have a lathe to fix them. I had to wrap the dowel in 150 grit sandpaper and sand the inside diameter until the inside diameter matched the shaft. One end was much smaller than the other.
