These latches are well made and as we live where it rains a lot stainless steel was ideal. We installed them on a set of double leaf garage doors, using a bottom set and a top set for extra support and protection. My only complaint is with the included #12 stainless steel screws as I feel they are not long enough to lock a bolt of this size. We bought these for security so I bought the same #12 screw but 1/2" longer so I use the full thickness of the door which is 1 3/4". We would buy again

I bought these to keep the door closed and they seem to work very well. The springs are strong enough, I don't think they will bloom on their own. However, they can still be pushed back easily and remain open by turning the latch. Because they are made of stainless steel, they must be durable and not corrode over time. Bought these for a new shed I am building and they are much better than others I have used in the past, have a solid feel and are made from heavy duty steel. The only downside is that when you pull up or down depending on whether it's at the top or bottom of your fixed door, the pin tends to slip out of the base a bit, which isn't a big deal though it could be customized in design. These fasteners are very strong! I don't think you could find a better or more durable product. I have a nice vinyl fence with gates leading to a canal and walkway behind my house.
