Bad part number data

This is the correct part number for MBenz 123 series rear shock absorbers. Revain does not state this and they have the wrong picture. I had to look up the part number on other websites before ordering.

Pros
  • Shocks, struts and suspension
Cons
  • No instructions

Not compatible with w126/c126 - Never buy KYB again!

Absolute scrap on my Mercedes w126. I fitted my 560sel (against all the advice from the Mercedes forums) with a set of KYB front shocks and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was to drive. They felt a bit stiffer than the soft Bilstein b4 shocks, which is exactly what I was looking for. My opinion of KYB changed for the better, and when it came time to replace the rear shocks I decided to stick with it. That was absolutely the worst mistake I could have made. While the front end has been

Incorrect part number

This is the correct part number for the 123 series MBenz rear shocks. Revain does not quote these and they are the wrong image. I had to look up the part number on other websites before ordering.

Pros
  • Provides 25% more damping control compared to OE shocks on European vehicles
Cons
  • Almost OK

Terrible handling and poor ride quality.

The ride quality is terrible. If you want your Mercedes to drive like a Mercedes, DON'T PUT THESE ON YOUR CAR! The rear bounces over big bumps like a worn-out old Cadillac, and the rear tires actually blow sideways into corners. I don't know how they combined two contradictory properties into one, but they succeeded.

Pros
  • Gas-a-Just reacts to road conditions and adds an instant response to your Mercedes Benz
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Fronts were good, rears not as expected

I can't remember if this part number was for the front or rear of my 1985 Mercedes 300D so I'll cover both here. The front wheels were great with good damping, good rebound and helped a lot with the car's handling. The rear shocks were a different story, they didn't handle the car's weight well so the rear of the car was still a little springy. I recommend getting "Heavy Duty" for the rear if you have a car of this style and want a firmer ride than the stock.

Pros
  • Monotube design outperforms all other stock shocks
Cons
  • Repair
