Better than the rope-start version

Get the auto-start version - it's much easier to get started and start training your wrist and forearms right away than the previous rope-start version. One star deduction because of the digital counter. It really takes something like a supercapacitor if it doesn't have one, or a stronger one if it has one, to power the display. The digital counter only works when the core is spinning when it takes 20-30 seconds to run when the core is not spinning and spinning while trying to switch modes or…

Neat Little Gizmos - Exercise & Fitness

I've had tennis elbow for a while and wanted something to heal and also wanted to strengthen my forearms for golf. I came across this product concept in a newspaper article and decided on this self-starter based on prices and reviews. Make it work. This modern autorun makes it easy! Just wind it up, release it, and spin it like "You're holding a small drink from the top of a glass and spinning the ice." I did it on the first try and had no problem slowing down, moving faster, switching arms…

Not strong at all and broke after a month

I managed to get the spinner to do everything advertised. It takes a little practice to master the rotation technique, but once you've mastered it you'll feel a good load on your forearms. The counter also worked as advertised and you can track your activity. However, after 30 days something broke inside and now it no longer starts and is therefore unusable. I didn't even have time to remove the protective film from the frame as the spinner broke. I'm not a big strong person so I have to say…

I am a 70 year old retired doctor who has been a practicing medicine practitioner for over 40 years. I recently had surgery on both arms for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Cubital Tunnel Syndrome (8 weeks ago) and am weak as a kitten. I use the NSD Power AutoStart Spinner as a rehab for my injured arms/hands. I received my device today and despite my debilitated condition I had no trouble getting it to work. Any negative feedback seems to be aimed at the inability to operate this device. If I can…

I love gym equipment!

I bought the NSD Power AutoStart Spinner Gyro Wrist Trainer on impulse and nostalgia. I had a grip machine like this a few years ago. NSD is better in several ways. Starting is smoother and easier. The inner rotating ball is spring loaded. If you increase the tension on the spring and then release, all you have to do is hold on and start rocking and rolling. The ball inside rotates and when you rotate your wrist a gyratory motion is felt in the grip, wrist and forearm and when you rotate your…

If you have the right move down, it works great.

In all the reviews that say something like "quickly turn down" or something like that, you just have to move your wrist properly. As stated in the instructions (and various videos), when the spinner starts to move, you need to "stir" your hand/wrist evenly to keep the gyroscope spinning. It only took me a few tries to get this working, but others may need a little practice. Please note that this is the starter. This causes the spinner to move fast enough to move, but not nearly fast enough to…

Helps with carpal tunnel syndrome

I have struggled with carpal tunnel syndrome for many years. Most nights I am anxious and wake up with pain and numbness. Wearing a sleep corset solves the problem, but it only trades one discomfort for another. I've been using this device for a few weeks now and I've found that I don't get woken up as often at night. It took some practice to get the hang of it and I'm still having trouble getting it to work reliably with my non-dominant hand, but once mastered it's easy to use. Update: I've…

Makes wrist and forearm workouts fun

From everything I saw at CES this was the only product I went for. I actually first found their competitor, the DynaFlex Powerball, but chose the NSD Spinner brand instead because it sounded like they had better customer service. I also liked that they had an affordable wind-up version that didn't require a cable. You wind it up by turning the ball in the direction of the arrow (see attached picture, the arrow is stamped on the green part). I've read that these balls are popular with climbers…
