It seems to have worked. for tools and equipment

After reading the reviews I was concerned that this item was junk. However, it seemed to work as advertised. I changed the driver's side door pins on a 2001 S10 Blazer and used this tool to almost fully compress the door spring three times. Once to check the tool, once when trying to replace the spring for the first time after replacing it. Pins and sockets, and third, by seeing what I did wrong when trying to reset the spring for the first time. At this point it doesn't appear to be bent at…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good purchase, I'm glad I bought it, very easy to do a difficult job

I took a chance to buy this tool and it was perfect. A high quality, well made American instrument. I tweaked it a bit by putting a better washer on it and lubricating the bolt with sealant. But be careful with the pen! One jumped out and hit the door window, but fortunately it didn't break. (User learning curve, not tool error.) Protect your eyes and keep your mind to yourself. When you get a fully compressed door spring, there is a lot of energy in it.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Low repairability

There's nothing better than having the right tool for the job!

This item made it incredibly easy to remove the springs from the hinges on my 71 Riviera. Even though this is the last set of hinges I ever disassembled, money well spent. I've been thinking about building my own tool and thought it would be worth taking a look at what the pros are using. Within minutes I found some incredibly affordable options at Revain and settled on the slightly more expensive tool after reading negative reviews for a lighter tool. There's nothing like having the right tool

Top Tool: Tools and Equipment

Incredibly useful tool, my first attempt at replacing pivot pins in my 03 s10, so you can imagine how it will happen in "a few hours". ran. I watched video after video of the replacement process and everyone said GET THIS TOOL. I did this and found that it works best if I put the spring back in, but don't take it out. This tool easily compresses the spring without damaging it, making installation very easy. As many say, a special tool to only use once or twice, but well worth it. A little tip…

Quality item

The driver's door on my 2000 S10 needed new hinge bushings. I found some YouTube videos for sharing. A shade tree mechanic used a crowbar to knock out a door spring. To install the spring, he placed the spring in a vise to compress it and then used wire to hold it compressed. I was so proud of myself and thought I could skip the supercharger. The spring popped out easily. The assembly of the sockets went as expected. I put the spring in a vise and tied it with a few turns of stiff wire. The…

Pros
  • Practical item
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Relatively easy work. The push-in door hinge spring compression tool worked great. Lubricate the adjusting nut as recommended in the instructions. The tool slightly compressed the door spring. I used a jack to support the weight of the door and a motorcycle tie to hold the door to the jack and my wife held onto the door to secure it. First I removed the door spring with the socket tool. He then pulled out the hinge pin clips, then tapped on the hinge pins to move them a bit, then grabbed the…

Hard wearing, Made in USA

Bought "used" from Revain for $11. Arrived 2 days later, item repackaged but no signs of wear. The doors of my '98 Chevy 1500 sagged and had to be slammed shut. Door pins and bushings replaced. While at it I decided to replace the 20 year old springs. I removed the old springs with a screwdriver. I tried installing the message springs with some zip ties but they broke. I've also tried compressing the springs in the terminal and using #12 AWG solid copper wire. But the copper will break or I'll…
