Nice footed block, but takes a lot more care than my old one.

I replace my old cutting board when I moved and left it for my ex-husband. It was less than half the cost of the Boos Block and I never had to oil or treat it and it still worked great after 10 years (maybe I should have kept it). The Boos Block is fine, but is drier and needs more maintenance than any of my other cutting boards.which are also several years old. I bought this on as it had feet which I like. I think you are paying a lot for the brand name on this, but footed cutting boards are…

Pros
  • Beautiful craftsmanship.
Cons
  • May require frequent sanding to remove stains or scratches

Block for block, nice

I used this for about 6 months now, and is quite satisfy with the board.I do chop a lot with my cleaver. And it stand up to it.The color is not bad. But I don' t if I need to put that chopping board oil onEvery once in a while or not.The last board I had was half the thickness J A Henckels and about the same size and it lastedFor about 10 years and I don' t take care of it with oil or anything.I hope this can beat it.It a bit heavy and if your have granite countertop, just be carefully when…

Pros
  • Very fine wood. Looks amazing
Cons
  • May not be as hygienic as plastic or bamboo cutting boards

Company doesn't care about defective product

🥹 marks from where their finish ran downI just got this today. I love it but .that makes me want to cry at this priceNot sure what the line isAnd of course this company doesn't care that they sent me a terrible looking cutting board

Pros
  • The perfect size for small kitchens or counter spaces, measuring only 9 inches square
Cons
  • Not suitable for use with electric knives, which can damage the surface

Not Quite a 5 Star Cutting Block

When I decided I deserved a nice Boos Block and came across the walnut version, I just had to have it regardless of the double cost. It would look so beautiful in my kitchen. After receiving my block it is indeed a beautiful block. The reason I’m only giving it a 3 star rating is they had to fill in a small area with wood putty. Now, I get that not every block is going to be perfect and this is an acceptable practice but what I’m perturbed about is the color of the putty they used seems…

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • Too small for some food preparation tasks

Adore this beautiful board

This is a great board. I love it for everything. I used it for months to cut raw meat every day for my kitties and it was fantastic. Held up and still looks beautiful. I clean it with hot soapy water, seal it with Boo board products.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Can easily scratch and dent with frequent use

Buyer beware! best in my review

A nice looking cutting board, but the rubber grips fell off feet after 9 months. Tried gluing them on with hot glue gun and they kept falling off. Can't use it without the grips because the metal feet will scratch the granite.

Pros
  • I like the size of this. Doesn’t take up much room on the counter!
Cons
  • Not suitable for cutting raw meat due to cross-contamination risks

Great quality at a great price!

It was hard to tell the quality of this item from the photos available, but my daughter had wanted something like this and all I was finding were boards in the $100 range, so I took a chance on this reasonably priced one. It is a nice solid board and the quality is so superior to what the price would reflect. I might have to order myself one now!

Pros
  • La utiliso para haser tortillas de Arina de trigo muy buen produto
Cons
  • Feet may not be stable on all countertop surfaces

Solid and stable best in my review

This is the perfect size for my needs. It is a quality block. It sits about 3 inches above the level of the counter surface, which is great for my height. It did feel a bit dry upon arrival, so I immediately oiled it, then added the cream (sold separately).

Pros
  • This Boos Block cutting board is made from sustainably sourced, hand-selected American Black Walnut Wood
Cons
  • May dull knives quicker than other cutting board options

Cons

Great for tall people

This is the second one of these I've bought. The first lasted a few years, but, without any maintenance, the wood started to split. I'll be taking much better care of this one.I'm 6'2" and the extra height that the legs provide along with the thickness of the board makes it that much more comfortable for me to work with. I use this board on a daily basis for all my fruits and vegetables. (I have a much bigger board for meats). It's a workhorse.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain, as the surface can be wiped down with a damp cloth and mild soap
Cons
  • Can be difficult to sanitize thoroughly

Good for smaller Apts

I do like this cutting board but it's a little small for what I need it for. I refuse to cut meat on this board. So it's mostly my veggie board. I do have to oil and cream it at least once a month unless I use it more often.

Pros
  • Made in the USA: Each John Boos Butcher Block and Cutting Board is proudly made in Effingham, Illinois by skilled craftspeople using time honored techniques since 1921
Cons
  • Not suitable for use on glass or ceramic countertops

High quality product. Good purchase.

I have wanted one of these for years! I got the smaller maple one but I think the larger size is more practical. Very nice quality.

Pros
  • Excelente piece
Cons
  • Doesn’t lay flat not worth the money

Quality Control MIssed One.

Arrived with a small chunk missing off the top surface. Not unusable, but I was a bit surprised considering the reputation the company is looking for. It wasn't shipping damage - it was wrapped that way. Others I've ordered came perfect. Normally they provide a GREAT product! I just happened to catch one that fell through the cracks - I hope!

Pros
  • Boasts a beautiful natural wood grain pattern that adds elegance to your kitchen
Cons
  • May absorb stains from acidic foods

Boos Maple Edge Grain Cutting Board

I have a couple of Boos boards, but after reading a couple of reviews, I was a little nervous buying this. However, it came and was perfect. The feet were on properly, no splits or cracks. I immediately treated it with the Boos cream and let it sit overnight. I haven't had it long so I can't yet vouch for longevity but if it's anything like my other Boos, with proper care, it should last a long time.

Pros
  • Walnut wood has natural anti-bacterial properties, reducing the risk of contamination
Cons
  • Not suitable for use with meat tenderizers or mallets

Cutting board.: my feedback

Nice board, will made, purchase items to prolong the life and works well. The only thing that bothered me was at the legs screw in and can become loose. Other than that, I recommend it. Solid wood and will last a lifetime.

Pros
  • I love this little cutting board!
Cons
  • May not be as durable as other cutting board options

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very well made good for me

I keep it near the sink and the feet raise it up off the counter enough to keep moisture from collecting and damaging the board. Also just high enough to place a plate underneath and sweep the food onto it. If I had more counter space I'd have gone bigger other than that it works perfect for me.

Pros
  • Love it
Cons
  • Not suitable for use as a pastry or dough rolling surface

Very Good Cutting Board

I own this cutting board and two 12x18 cutting boards of the same brand, and have had the boards for going on four years now. They have held up well with no splitting or cracking. I do oil them once a month, which helps, but I'm wondering if the way I am washing them is also making a difference in preventing deterioration. I wash my blocks almost immediately after use (or wipe up liquids on the board with a paper towel quickly while in use) and I immediately wipe dry after washing. Basically…

Pros
  • Non-toxic, as the cutting board is free of any harmful chemicals that could seep into your food
Cons
  • May require a lot of storage space

Very nice cutting board.

This is a very nice solid maple cutting board. It is a good size for everyday use at home and thick enough to absorb some diligent cutting and chopping. The base is four wood feet which are very cute held to the board by screws. I oiled it prior to use for protection against warping and splinting. Made in USA.

Pros
  • Perfect size for additional chopping surface when prepping.
Cons
  • May require frequent sanding to maintain its smooth surface
